*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I will admit that the camera isn't the most intelligent piece of design work. :p

You could cut a small circle out of a screen protector or something though if people are worried about it being scratched; I'm not.

The front (so Kona doesn't think I've nicked a dummy model  :D):

You have a Galaxy Nexus as well don't you Robbo?

How are you finding the jump over to Sense from vanilla Android? I'm struggling a little bit, and it's the only thing annoying me so far (well, apart from the screen banding on gradients issue, but everyone as that apparently!)

Yes, I've always liked HTC Sense and have a soft spot for it. In the early days of Android it was absolutely brilliant.

Now though, you don't really gain an awful lot from it, but I think certain aspects of it are very nice.

I'm fairly happy with either.

That camel hump on the back is fugly

That's only thing I don't like the design of. I would have preferred it if they made it a 5 megapixel, so they could have made it flush.

I'm sorely tempted to get one but must hold out till the SIII is released. Unless someone releases a stock ICS rom for it, then it might push me over the edge.

Just upgraded over the phone from my DHD to the One X with Vodafone. Went for the grey, not a fan of the white. :) Same contract, I'm on now.

Free phone
£36 pcm - 600 min/1GB/unlimited txts

So the same everything as I have on the DHD, but got a few little extras:

Free delivery
Unlimited internet for the first three months - woo!
Free urbeats headphones + free tracks deal
Free vodafone to vodafone calls

What was the premium on 3G services when it first launched?

I usually keep handsets 12-18 months... will probably be one of the early adopters of LTE, tbh :D

Why are you thinking Q4 for LTE release in the UK?

The last I heard O2 had permission to install a few transmitters (something like 30) in London for very limited tests, nothing from any of the other providers. If that really is it we are going to be waiting for a lot longer before we get it than Q4...

EDIT:

So yes, VERY limited trials at the moment with the possibility of it becoming basically limited trials for Orange/EE towards the end of the year... The actual LTE licences haven't even been auctioned yet and aren't scheduled to be released until 2013... So Q4 is probably about accurate... Q4 2013... :p

Just in time for an 18 Month contract to run out... ;)

I really don't get what the big fuss is about having a dedicated camera button :p

I would say the fact you can just press a button and be in the camera and then press it again (with half press functionality) to take the picture. However I think Microsoft have a patent on turning the screen on by pressing the camera button so an Android phone is unlikely to gave it.:p

Going from a Touch HD with no camera button to an Omnia 7 with decent two stage camera button is night and day, one of the big things I'm umming and raring about with the S/X...:(
