*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I would say the fact you can just press a button and be in the camera and then press it again (with half press functionality) to take the picture. However I think Microsoft have a patent on turning the screen on by pressing the camera button so an Android phone is unlikely to gave it.:p

Going from a Touch HD with no camera button to an Omnia 7 with decent two stage camera button is night and day, one of the big things I'm umming and raring about with the S/X...:(

The Xperia S has great camera functionality. All of what you've mentioned there and more.

That's only thing I don't like the design of. I would have preferred it if they made it a 5 megapixel, so they could have made it flush.

I'm sorely tempted to get one but must hold out till the SIII is released. Unless someone releases a stock ICS rom for it, then it might push me over the edge.

I doubt reducing the resolution will make any difference (to the size at least), the sensor will still be the same size. It's almost certainly the autofocus mechanism and lens that cause the bump.

Eugh! Screen protectors!:p

Not a huge fan of the leather slips, they are still too bulky, HTC need to release a Fabric/chamois leather style case like they did with their older phones. Much less bulk and you can clean the screen on them!

But the Xperia S is not a One S... :p

I did look at the S, looks very nice, bit plasticky, but the silly transparent bar with extra case below ruins the design IMO.

Hey, I've been looking for a contract with this phone and came across;

100 cross-network mins + Unlimited texts + 1.5GB Mobile Internet Browsing • 24 months
£ 26.00 a month
from buymobilephones.net

Sound ok?

Im probably going to take mine off to be honest. After watching that scratch test vid. :p

Don't be too hasty, had a rep in store the other day who had scratches down their screen.

The handset I had was replaced because of grease or lint under the display but somehow I had managed to put a very fine scratch into it that couldn't be wiped away. The phone is the only thing that goes in my left trouser pocket :/ At least having had the phone exchanged, I have a second chance and am now considering a protector.

Gorilla glass can be scratched - no doubt about it.

This!

You have all these videos where people use knives etc. to show how tough the screen is, yet there are sooooooooo many people that gets tiny scratches still even if they are extremely careful with the mobile and only out it in the pocket that has nothing else in it.

And when you have a great big screen that is most certainly the last thing you want to happen :p

proof or it diddnt happen.

my original desire is gorilla glass and not a scratch on it and its been beaten and abused and dropped loads of times

I have an original desire too and the screen is completely scratch free after 2 years. Never used a case or screen protector.

The back plastic casing is scratched. Usually have it in my pocket with keys, change etc

You are seriously telling me that you have never seen any gorilla glass screen scratched?

Well here are a few things:

And if that isn't enough just simply search google for more stuff related to gorilla glass and scratches, plenty of the same problems as shown above out there ;)

Remember, just because you or anyone else has never got scratches on your gorilla screens, doesn't mean that gorilla glass in general is scratch free, no matter what you do.......

Screens being scratched is an odd one, they are generally all fairly resistant with a few anomalies such as the Galaxy Nexus (which gets scratched easily by all accounts).

Unless you are especially careless I don't think screen protectors are ever worth it.

You people do know that copper, steel, nickel, iron, gold, silver and aluminium CANNOT scratch "Gorilla" glass because it is lower on the mineral hardness scale. Simple science. Plus, it's marketed as scratch resistant, not scratch proof.

All these videos showing knives, coins and keys trying to scratch toughened glass are just worthless.

Something in your pocket or person has come in contact with your screen which is higher on the scale. It's usually sand, because that's literally in more places than you'd think.
