*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Went into cpw today and had a good look at this in both the grey and the white and i honestly dont see the appeal of the white. After comments on this site i thought to myself 'finally a non chav white phone' and was quite excited to take a look. But its still tacky looking :/

I had to make do with the white version, since our only real provider here decided it would be awesome to ONLY get the white version in.

I hated it at first, I still don't feel 100% with it now, but it's slowly growing on me. If I had the chance to swap it for a grey one, I would take it in a heartbeat though. But for now, I just have to make do with what I have. It's still the same cracking phone, I just can't stand to look at it for too long!

oww :(, I connected my phone to my Sony Xplod Headunit in my car as its got bluetooth. I can only get phone calls working no music :(, After a bit of fiddling I got the music "media" logo to display on my head unit and beats audio logo appears on my phone but no sound  My desire works flawlessly. will have to cable it up till its fixed :(

I have the freedom to choose any phone I like at anytime & not stuck in some crappy contract. It may cost more in the initial outlay but I am not tied

You can do that with a contract. When you get an 18 month or two year contract you get a (say) two year free contract with your phone if you get the right contract (such as the ones on here that have overall costs of around £500. You are then free to buy any phone throughout that time as you do normally but don't have to worry about paying that extra £10 a month as the £30 you're paying per month is essentially just a monthly instalment for your first phone.

It's the reason I ended up on contract in the first place as it worked out cheaper for me to go on contract than buy new phones sim free and pay for line rental sim only.:)

A decent contract doesn't even lose the benefit of being able to cancel a rolling contract as you just class the contract expense as a deferred phone payment as said. You could even go further and just stick the money you were going to pay for the sim free phone in another bank account and just pay the bill for that and gain interest. A few months later you can still buy a new phone or even pay off the old contract (20% discount due to VAT - so essentially a VAT free phone price) and get a new one.

Robbo or anyone for that matter...i have a lot of my mp3s synched with itunes...i take it i wont have issues synching the One X to my laptop and getting my mp3s onto my One x??

Just realised that i can pop into my local tmo store tomo and pick up my One X there, thats if they have any in stock...fingers crossed they do.

HTC Sync has an option to sync your iTunes to your phone :)

can this phone have a screen protector on as its got a curved screen??
(need it for work, my n900 only lasted about 6 months before getting scratched to hell)

Any one else have the flickering screen issue , my screen hurts my eyes looking at it now ;(
any fixes or is it a faulty screen ?

It's unclear at the moment. It could be a power management issue (software fix) or a fault with the actual hardware.

Mine is fine though.

I have that issue but only when the brightness is down at the loads.

The refreshing/reloading of the homescreen thing though...that's happening more and more often to me now.

I'm sorely tempted to get one but must hold out till the SIII is released. Unless someone releases a stock ICS rom for it, then it might push me over the edge.

Oh boy... its happened

Noticed a lot of graphical issues on my one x...for example when loading a webpage the search bar glitches pretty much every time. Also just had the green band Issue along the bottom of videos described previously which is pretty worrying. Any news on whether its hardware or software related yet?

Hi there

I would just like to check with every one on here. Does the One X use a micro sim??
Please let me know before I go ahead an order the handset.

There should be an OTA update released soon which addresses the majority of issues occurring at the moment.
The main one is finding that HTC have put the power management app in the wrong place hence the screen sapping so much juice! Lol
