*** The official HTC One X thread ***

got my one x coming today!!
Two questions, the first is how best to chage the battery the first few times?
second is there an app to tell me how many minutes ive used?

get a metal beaker, fill it up with 3/4 water.

then get a car battery, and connect it to the beaker via crocodile clips.

Lastly plonk your one x into the beaker.

When it finishes sparking - your done.

12+-+1

nice sweep of porth reservoir

Panoramic? Didn't know the One X had that option

Assuming it's the same as the One S under Setting -> Wireless and Networks (... more) -> Usage
There are 3 tabs. one for data, one for minutes and one for messages.

Ordered mine on Friday arvo, they said it would be here Monday but guess it went in too late on Friday so dpd say today sometime. I would say if you order it in the morning you should get it next day.

Well they are doing a credit check, etc first but I've not heard anything after 24 hrs. I am flying out to Indianapolis at the weekend and need it before I go, as I am affectively phone-less without it :|

Loving it so far, will get some snaps of it compared to my DesireHD later, but initially impressions are, much lighter, same width, taller, and of course the display is out of this world :)

Battery life might be an issue, and heat :p I'd hate to wake up to a small puddle of molten glass and plastic on the bedside table in the morning.

Usage is relatively light (as you can see), I've taken about 40 pictures and a couple of 2 minute videos though. Phone is totally stock, screen is on auto brightness, no power management adjustments.

The screen does seem to sap power at quite a rate as you'd probably expect, though that is set to improve quite a bit with future updates. Most Android phones take a couple of months to be optimised at least.

Also, this 'suffers' from the old HTC battery % being dodgy, it likes to sit on a certain percentage for a while and then suddenly drop a few % at once. The idle drain is actually rather good, it really doesn't drop much at all at idle.

It will probably improve a bit as well after a few more cycles.
