*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Anyone who bought from Phones4u

I saw on the Phones4u website a representative said all HTC One X's come with beats headphones, so I rang up and said I saw this and that the instore guy said it also (little white lie), and they are sending me a cheque for £40. Just a FYI.
Haha nice i think i will give that a try when i get home from work do you have the link to the website?;):)

What sort of money are the One X going for?
I'm using my Sensation as my daily and not feeling the love for the One X, but can't get on eBay atm for some reason.
I've not even taken it out the house yet I'm so unsure!

Decided to wait until the S3 drops on May 3rd to see if the price for the X drops on contracts :) (and have a look at the S3 to see if its better)

Anyone had a prompt for an update yet? 2

HTC is pushing out an OTA update to the HTC One X which should fix a large portion of the troubles the flagship smartphone has faced since launching. A number of users have complained about battery life and overheating (reportedly due to a misplaced power management app), instability, as well as issues with using hardware buttons in Ice Cream Sandwich that we highlighted in our review.

We'll have to wait for the dust to settle to see if this really does solve every problem users have had, but initial reports from Android Central claim on-screen menu and auto-brightness sensitivity issues have been resolved. Fudzilla also uploaded a screenshot of popular benchmarking app AnTuTu posting 11,290 — that's higher than pre-update scores, indicating improved general performance (although benchmarks are by no means definitive). The update's official title is 1.28.401.9, it's around a 30MB download, and won't overwrite any of your data. You can check to see if the update is ready for your device by heading to Software Updates inside the "About" settings menu on your One X.

Don't bother, I've had so many issues with orange and t-mobile ordering phones; You will be waiting ages. They say it will be with you next week but thats a lie as theres a backlog of orders so the next batch they get goes straight out of stock and they will say the same next week as well. I popped into town and they had them in stock in everyshop including t-mobile orange one but they couldnt deliver me one and gave the same excuses. go into carphone warehouse and do the upgrade with t-mobile there, you will still be contracted with t-mobile upgrade and you get unbranded unlocked phone

Cheers for that, I thought as much.:(

Interestingly, I noticed a little flicker in the corner pre-update, but since i applied it I haven't noticed it at all.....

And HTC Sense Email app is excellent. I'm finding Sense is much much improved over previous versions and I don't think I'll be as quick to "unlock, root and custom ROM" as I was on the Desire....

I'm on £22/month with £140 upfront, for the 3 One plan, with unlimited everything, I end up paying £23 more for 6 months extra service and a lot better allowances. I know it's an 18 month contract, but you can still switch phone on a 24 month contract at 18 months, and then sell both the old phone and the new one at the 24 month mark, there isn't much difference.

On the other hand, I ordered my phone from T-Mob over the phone and just went into a store and collected it. They're usually ok with that because, as the other poster said, they have quite a few of them in store.

Unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 1GB data for me, 18 month contract on o2

How much ?

Stupid amount of minutes and not enough data.

Its for my mum and last month she used over 1000 minutes !!!!

Or I can get the three contract

All-you-can-eat data
2,000 minutes
5,000 Three-to-Three minutes.
5,000 texts
24 months
£35

Plus topcashback which is £110, which then makes it around £30 per month !

I got the affordablemobiles deal of Three the one plan £25 a month for 24 months with £117 upfront cost - £40 cashback through quidco.... totalling £677 = £28.21 a month....
