Been watching the Engadget review again, on one of the vids at around 5/36 you see how much ram is in use and how much it has left. I still think I made the right call for ME in regards to my personnel choice between the sensation and the SGS2.
i'd much rather the phone OS (i.e. Sense) uses as much RAM as it needs to be able to run smoothly as it seems to on the brief time I had with the Sensation already. Whats the point in having free RAM if it's not being used? What with advances in being able to save apps and everything else to Sd card its a non-issue for me.

Ruined the impact a little i know. It's all i've been picturing since you ordered one.
Sense isn't perfectly smooth all of the time, but then neither is Android generally.
It doesn't slow down at all though (and it has no end of animations compared to TouchWiz), just like the Galaxy S II.
Don't those animations only work with the sense launcher?
768MB is ample for Android. However more is always a good thing.

It would have been more of a selling point if it worked with all launchers.
On the vid the ram was at 558MB with 103MB left
I understand - some ram has been allocated to the GPU. 103MB is still there not being used at all. Plenty spare.
Mine currently has 350MB free and I've been fiddling with it a bit, if it stays over 100MB I don't think you would have many issues but they should have put 1GB in instead of skimping

It's interesting to note just how much RAM SenseUI uses! my phone atm is on 319MB used and it's been on all day with a mishmash of usage.
Srill, should not matter though as 2.3 is good with memory anyway.
