**** The Official Huawei Mate 20/Mate 20 Pro Thread ****

This thing is so tempting! I have convinced myself not to buy it so many times yet I find myself reading reviews and watching videos on it....

I also have a 20% off code from Very making it just £720 if I bite the bullet! To buy or not to buy?!
 
Would the P20 Pro price likely come down a bit with the launch of this?

Due for upgrade now (today infact), been looking at the P20Pro ....
 
Fondled the pro in the shoos today, nice and narrow but a tad too tall for my liking. Build in great and it looks a stunning phone. UI was questionable and it seems gestures are htt and miss when you use nova launcher. Shame as I want gestures over buttons.

It was a good enough overall 1st impression to keep my pre order.
 
My mate 10 pro is a beast and will do nicely until the mate 30 pro

As others have said though, the updates from Huawei are slow/non existent, doesn't seem to be causing me an issue but as a flagship that sucks

Yeah, left that for now. I guess if I'm blown away by the Mate 20 Pro I might cancel. I need to double check Google return policy on a simple 'I don't like it' point of view.

I do still like the Note 9. It is possible I end up on that after all this. I've really don't know.
 
No one will have the phone yet but all the usual suspects have cases available.

Have there been any more in depth reviews? A lot are first looks or videos from the press event in London.
 
Id be tempted to swap my pixel 3 with this if it wasn't so big and wasn't EMUI. I can't see the charger or watch being much kop though so wouldn't use that as a deciding factor.

In terms of specs you can barely put a cigarette paper between the two as they're almost identical. With the Note 9 having a slightly larger screen and a bit cheaper. So I'm tempted to go for the Note 9 unless the mate 20 pro has a sudden price crash.

I was going to go for the mate 20 x but the 1080p screen on a display that large put me right off

Regarding the note vs pro...

The telephoto on the Huawei has way more reach, plus the super wide angle is a big plus. Main camera will be better all round especially in low light.

Faster charging, all round better SoC, IR Blaster, better fingerprint and face unlock.
