EDIT: Is there anyway to enable background downloads? Every time i click to install an app it throws me out the appstore to the home screen, can't I just queue up a load uninterrupted? similarly, exiting newsstand pauses any downloads of magazine etc. inside it?

You can't queue them up as such, but if you return to the App Store for example, it will keep downloading/installing in the background.

Oh yeah. Coming from my original iPad that's the second best feature after the amazing screen.

As for it supposedly being thicker it fitted in the ipad2 case I had at work and it sure as hell is lighter than my first gen iPad.

Some graphics on the web now look so low resolution it's laughable.
 
Should I take mine back with the little chip on the aluminium, or would Apple just laugh it off and say I've done it?

I know it's so insignificant and doesn't affect it in any way but I'm thinking more of resale value when I eventually come to sell.

Well I must say I was prett underwhelmed opening the box and using the new iPad, even coming from the iPad 1. The screen is very pretty and just coming back to my PC now just shows how it blows a normal TFT res like this out of the water! So crisp!

I have missed my tablet by my bedside on night times, mornings so glad I have an iPad again :)

Any news on a jailbreak?? :D

You paid full price and you should expect a perfect product. I'd be calling Apple now and explaining your unhappiness.

You could have course send it back.
Apple might be alright about it in a shop if you've clearly not really used it and it still has the plastic wrap on it.

My Brother's iPhone 4S had a small dent in the top of the bezel. It was a tiny cosmetic issue, but it's a bit pants when you've paid good money for something that shouldn't have a defect.

It demonstrates how quickly they churn these things out in the manufacturing plants though.
 
I'm struggling to hold mine (hurr), that is a nekkid iPad3. I keep dropping it because it is so thin and I am used to holding an iPad1 in the official apple case. Need to get some protection (ala gelaskin) for that back asap.
 
Got both my iPad and apple TV but only been playing with the iPad for a little over an hour but WOW the screen is amazing, it's my first iPad and I'm very impressed :D

Not even opened my Apple TV yet!

Not really a negative but the iPad is heavier than I expected but honestly it's of no concern.
