Last year the iPad 2 went on sale at midnight on the Thursday night. I was poised refreshing the Apple Store and at midnight my browser couldn't connect and then around 4 mins later I got in and they were all gone.

I don't know what to do this time round. What time did the iPad 2 go on sale in the Apple shops? Was it midnight as well?

5pm the iPad 2 went on sale last year.

The 4s launched in the morning UK time and was a nightmare to try and buy online due to the traffic. I ended up with two orders.

Interesting, but I tend to agree with that article that we won't see iOS6 with the iPad3.

I think next Wednesday will bring the iPad3, AppleTV3 and iOS5.1

Oh, and a big dent in my bank balance!

I used the App Store app, didn't seem to be any problems doing it that way for me.

With 5.1 in beta at the moment, there is very little chance of 6.0 being released with the iPad 3 in my opinion.

The 6.0 story was highlighting it would be out by the end of this year, not with the iPad 3 launch.

I sold it to a mate, who bought my iPad 1 a year ago. Really missing it. Now I HAVE to get a 3, or HD or whatever they end up calling it, release day.

Agreed, but there is a good chance it will be announced though and perhaps demoed as "one more thing..."

If the base model stays at £399 I'm probably going to get one. The display has mainly been what I've been waiting for.

I'd prefer a Windows tablet, but I'm realistic. It's going to be 18-24 months before we get anything close to the iPad so for now this is the best option.
