*** The Official iPad (Early 2012) Thread ***

Really? That's disappointing!

I like the screen resolution but can live without it. I’m not going to do very much gaming so the quad graphics aren’t required. That leaves me with only a larger choice of apps which really doesn’t justify spending more on another tablet. I’ll wait and see what the market brings for Windows 8/Android before I decide to change what I use at the moment.

All the people that don't think this was an epic upgrade, what were you wanting? Teas maid app? Foot massager?

what i don't understand is: there's over 200 million people in america. Granted they're all not gonna buy the ipad. There's over 60 million in the UK...they're not all gonna buy it. But makes sense to get us out of the way ennit? :( i'm just waffling need sleep!

I don't believe that on a technology forum people are trying to play down the importance of the screen on tablet, a device which is all about the screen.

The fact you think this is a small upgrade is strange, why is it small? What could have made it a 'worthy' upgrade?

Nobody has answered that question which means people are either trolling or trying to play down the importance of it as they can't justify getting one. Simple.

Maybe because you don't read peoples comments and just brush over with the same questions again and again.

I will repeat myself one more time just for you. As my personal opinion I believe the majority of users use it mainly for interweb surfing or watching the odd film. The upgrade even with its better screen doesnt really add up.

Its really not going to improve their surfing much.

What will you be using yours for?

For the user who just browses the web, which hardware feature would improve the experience more than the new screen would?

Should Apple just stop releasing new iPads because the existing one is good enough for people with limited needs?

Various apps, movie watching while travelling, web browsing, a mixture of everything really.

I don't see the screen upgrade as something that is negligible, it's pretty damn huge.

Exactly. Also, the incredible sales figures and app download figures largely put to bed the argument that most people just browse the web on it. It's far more than that.

Ok, here goes:

Thunderbolt
USB3
Larger capacity (32gb as standard)
Better battery life for long journeys
Larger screen - maybe edge to edge?
Better front and rear camera - similar to iPhone 4S - VGA front facing camera still on iPad 3!
SD storage option - never going to happen, I know
Glass home button - so it doesn't scratch
