120hz wasn’t a big deal for me, I was only ever interested in the 5.4” which wasn’t getting a high refresh rate anyway.

I hope the size remains in their lineup for next year also.

I'd settle for 90hz, how is apple not able to pull this off, I hope they include USB C at least. There software seems to have gotten a good bump so i'm hopeful for the 12, or i'll wait for the 13 before returning to apple, well, maybe.

We'd have heard by now if USB-c was happening.

Yes, you're probably right, but I'm holding on to a sliver of hope, apples messy port strategy is grinding me, between them and Amazon's refusal to budge on micro usb for their Kindles i'm not a happy bunny.

Yeah, makes no sense for Apple to go all-in on USB-c on Macs, yet keep lightning on iPhone. Apple basically gave lightning to USB-IF so that they can make USB-c, and still hasn't converged.

Just a few more years and all ports will be gone from phones anyway, it's just a matter of time now.

Being generious, perhaps they're trapped between introducing a new standard only to discontinue it for portless as you say. I hope the portless chargers have a wire that attaches to the phone via a magnet to charge for those of use who need to use the device while it charges.

Still rocking an RX here and no interest this year. The RX and the bog standard 11 are amazing.... 11 edges for the camera choice but yeah, never had any regrets whatsoever with the RX.

I just really don’t see where phones can go from here. I do think people tend to enjoy knowing they have ‘the best’ rather than any meaningful difference in day to day performance. My dad has a phone with a right potato camera and... really, it’s fine.

Phones are pretty much mature at this point. Iterations are getting smaller and the focus in on little things. People keep their phones for longer, and actually are more likely to replace the battery now rather than replace the entire phone a couple of years down the road. Phones market has become like laptop market of 10 years ago.

We should wait to see who delivers the "next big thing" that sells in the billions. People expected smart watches to do that, and while they're useful and successful products, it's not the industry that can rival phones. Maybe smart glasses will be the next big thing.

"Bring it on" is what I say. I skipped last year but I'm up for a new phone this time.

Not sure what will happen with my Xs Max yet. Mrs. Feek is currently using a 6s which needs replacing so I could either give her this (with a new battery), or trade it in towards a new SE or an XR depending on what sort of screen size she's happy with.

I think I'm going to skip this years... (I've said this every year since being on the AUP) But I'm more than happy with my 11Pro Max. However I only upgraded to this as it worked out cheaper than my 10XS Max. So if it goes down in price again I might. But at this point I'm feeling content

Until the hype machine starts

I was tempted to go for latest/flagship model this year, it's been a while, but likely just side-grade from my 8 to an SE. Because as cool as it would be, I really don't need anything more than I already have and want to keep the Touch-ID.

I'll be skipping again. I really can't think of a feature that is missing or that I would want - apart from better battery of course. But it seems manufacturers don't really give a toss about this.

I might just have to get the upgrade program for 1 year, and then next years phones hopefully have everything i need so i can keep that for several years

Been using the new SE since launch after having the iPhone 11 Pro.

Will be getting the iPhone 12 Pro this time in September.

Only thing letting the SE down is the small battery.

The closer it gets, the more I'm thinking of just replacing my XS Max battery when it's required. I can't see what would justify the price to upgrade from it IMO.

I would expect a XS to be good for another 3 or 4 years with a battery replacement when the battery health gets a bit low.

If battery life is important to you, you might be better off upgrading to the 11 pro series which have excellent battery life.

Might be able to sell the XS and use the funds to buy a 11 pro and you're battery will be solid for several years.

Is 5G implementation confirmed, and will it be affected by UK Gov decision to get rid of Huawei?

I’m running an 8plus at the moment. Battery life could be better but aside from that I am struggling to see what a new phone could bring me, aside from 5G. Even then do I need 5G? Probably not!

I’ll probably wait this one out and go for the 12S.

I have no issues with my battery life as it is, but as it's currently around 92%, it's likely in the next year that it will require changing. On very heavy use days, it can reach about 15-20% by the end, but I'm always close to a charger if it were to be required.
