I don’t think I have ever bother using the quick charger that came with my 11 Pro.

I just carried on using the one that was plugged in before. I think I have only thought ‘I wish I had a quick charger’ once in my entire smart phone ownership and that was before I owned an 11 Pro.

They say most people have chargers in their house, do people not sell them with the phone when upgrading?

If you sell to a recycler, they don't ask for the charger or cables (presumably owing to safety risks), so it's not unreasonable to expect most people to have a charger in their house. However, fast charging is *really* convenient for those times you need it, and the only people who'll have fast chargers lying around their house are some Android users and people who bought an 11 Pro/Max.

Doesn't look good at all. Not sure why they'd make the battery smaller, I know they're saving some on CPU consumption with A14 and going to 5nm, looks like they're going to make the devices thinner instead.

Whatever battery gains they've made from the A14, they've lost with making the battery smaller and 5G. Battery would have suffered even more if it was 120hz as well, but too bad thats not coming..

I'm sure Apple hope you'll buy an overpriced original fast charger, but you could always buy a third party one for ten or fifteen quid.

The RAVpower ones are excellent, just add a cheap wireless charging pad and you have a fast charging/wireless charging setu0 for under £30.

I had an eBoot 10W which worked fine with naked iPhones, but I needed to place my Spigen cased iPhone 8 dead centre to get the best out of it.

I had a RAVpower one short circuit and make a lot of smoke about 5 or 6 years ago, I was lucky the house didn't catch on fire.

I'm done buying cheap random Chinese brand chargers and batteries. I'd just rather spend a little more and get it from manufacturers or other reputable brands like Belkin or Morphie. Whatever savings these random Chinese brands provide is wiped out after one incident, and they usually don't tend to last very long either, meaning you have to keep on buying them so they might actually cost more in the long term.

Understandable given your experience with RAVpower.

I had 4-5 of them powering various charging setups at work for a couple of years without incident, hence my recommendation.

It would be great if these phones featured gorilla glass victus but the announcement is far too late right? All the phones are being built right now I suppose.

Apple and Corning are big collaborators. Apple would have known about all of Corning’s roadmap years in advance. It’s very likely that Apple will use it.

Samsung will reportedly be the first to use it, presumably in their Note 20.

So definitely not too late, Apple and Corning work closely together afaik

It would be great if for once Gorilla Glass lived up to its name instead of acting like overhyped swiss cheese. Fingers crossed they've actually created a meaningful progression on their technology this time...

There’s a reason Apple doesn’t use the term Gorilla Glass even though they’re using them on all iPhones and iPads. The brand itself, while being the best at what they do, has a tendency to overpromise and underdeliver.

Gone from potentially having a great phone to a massive disappointment.

notch looks like it might end up being same, no 120hz and a smaller battery.

why would anyone get a 12 over a 11? Rather save the money tbh.

Oh....
Can't say I've ever thought "I wish the scrolling was much smoother...." But I'm sure it's good ;)

Go to an Apple Store and look at scrolling on the iPad Pros and compare it with the iPhone. You can never go back!

It's one of those things that you never knew you wanted, but once you have it, it just never feels the same without it.
