It’s not exactly a duff product though, since the cameras are excellent :) It’s only people who are expecting a step change in camera results from the Pro Max that are likely to be disappointed.

Yeah - some of the stuff like the RAW support and incremental better low-light performance is nice but... it's just not a big change year to year now, no matter how they hype it. Like the LiDAR in the 12's can do some fun stuff like measure people's height or do 3D scans but it's really just a novelty and if there's any cool applications I'm not thinking of, by the time I do upgrade they'll probably have been implemented...

One of the small things holding me back is that Google Photos currently has all my images in it. Can I keep using it on iPhone? Will anything change on that front, or do I just download the app and set off?

I used Google Takeout to download all of my photos to a laptop and then uploaded them to iCloud using its companion app which took forever. Takeout did warn that some couldn’t be retrieved (it lists them) but I proceeded anyway. On my phone I’ve disabled all synchronisation with Google services apart from mail and contacts. I’m not giving up entirely with Google, for instance with ebooks I purchase from Play Books as it’s cross platform. I also remain subscribed to YouTube Premium but Google One is long gone.

One thing I've noticed from reviews as well is as a Max user to hear that this year's model is noticeably bigger feeling due to the design... the 11 Pro Max was already pushing it a bit size-wise so I might end up having a dilemma next year!

Apologies if this was answered earlier in the thread. The 12 Mini is released tomorrow and I have one on order for my wife through Amazon. Do Apple allow their products to be dispatched in order to arrive on the release day, or is delivery likely to be the day after?

Yep, you should get a dispatch email today.

LIDAR is also used for low light auto focus and night mode portraits, it’s not just used for a gimmick.

It also removes the annoying need to move your phone around for ages when using AR apps.

My case from Mous was supposed to be delivered on 04/11 and it still hasn't arrived thanks to Hermes :( I feel like Mous' support are stringing me along a bit, and Hermes' support has completely fobbed me off by telling me to speak with the retailer.

Pretty annoyed right now since I only have a few days left in which to return the Apple silicone case, and I really wanted to compare them side-by-side.

I hope so :) My wife went from "totally don't want a new phone" to "ooh the new 12 Mini looks good" in the space of not many hours. And now she's very excited.

ha ha, hopefully you get the delivery tomorrow :D

I have got my dispatch email as well :D:eek::p

Just ordered my iPhone.

Going for a standard 64GB 12 in Blue.

Paying £130 upfront then £20 a month for 24 months - happy with that.
