For any folk that fitted screen protectors straight out of the box. Did you just peel off the shipped protector and apply the new one, or did you still clean and prepare after removing the one that comes on the shipped phone?

I still cleaned mine as normal because even though it had only been out of a box a minute or two there was dust on the screen.

Not got mine yet but I imagine it'll need a clean as the protective film that comes out of the box is usually a static magnet when you take them off..

Cleaned mine with the one I ordered, spigen full screen one. Came with some wet wipes so cleaned the screen and put the new screen protector on. Did it in my bathroom where I steamed it up with hot water from my shower.
No dust underneath although a few bubbles which have no disappeared overnight.

Have had the phone for a few days since getting it Saturday. I have to admit it’s taken me some time getting used to the size and weight as I came from a xs. Really liking the official Apple leather case too, got it in blue to match my pacific blue 12 pro. Adds a bit of bulk to the phone but not that much.
All in all quite happy with it, camera is much better than the Xs but then you would expect that lol.

I have had iPhones for years as I always assumed that it was the best camera but just not sure now. I recently changed to a Fold 2 to try something a bit different, my missus got a 12 Pro and I was expecting it to blow the fold away, enough to tempt me back lol. I use the ultrawide the most and the Fold 2 is consistently better than the 12 Pro, the detail levels are much better even though they are the same 12MPixel resolution.

This is a crop taken at the same time and the Fold just retains more detail.

I love Apple gear but I think the marketing overtakes reality most of the time....

I'm the same mate, I thought I might be tempted back as I always swing back and forth between ios and android, but this year I'm not tempted now I've got the fold 2

Thanks. Yes my concern is about size/weight up from the X, I have 2 weeks from receipt to send X back to Apple for trade in. IF I’m that miffed I can cancel & return new phone, then just get a new battery for the X until next year.

I bought a Mous case for my 12pro and one of their Hybrid Glass screen protector which was really too expensive. Anyway fitted it straight away to the phone straight out the box. I too run the shower in bathroom as steam seems to knock down the dust. So the Mous protector went on well enough but was terrible for attracting dust. It would wipe off but working in dusty environments it was like a magnet for dust. Bought a Spigen 2 pack and installed one instead. No more dust sticking to the display and feels a lot smoother. Fitted easily as the glass protector is mounted in a plastic applicator. Clean the phone, peel the the backing off the protector and put the applicator on the phone. Run you finger up a central cut out then peel a sticker that straddles the cut out and holds the glass in the applicator. Once applicator is removed a smooth down with your finger or squeegee and your good to go.

I've cancelled my Pro Max for the moment. I was expecting the Camera to be much better, but reviews aren't showing that for the most part. Austin Mann's review was the icing on the cake, not worth it for my use case.

Going to wait until a bit more long-term reviews come out.

Guessing the larger battery didn't swing it for you? I am in a similar dilemna on pro vs max

I think the Pro Max turned out to be exactly what it was always going to be - a big iPhone with a good camera, hyped by the company making it. See also: Samsung S20 Ultra.

It’s not exactly a duff product though, since the cameras are excellent :) It’s only people who are expecting a step change in camera results from the Pro Max that are likely to be disappointed.

I do think the whole marketing of the new hardware on the camera and indeed the biggest change on hardware for a while - a change in results overall would have been expected.

I think it's all relative, personally I think the battery life on my 12 (not pro) is amazing but I did come from a P4XL which didn't last a day for me!
My rebellion against stainless steel is complete now that I have the watch. After a couple of days use I now feel that the biggest thing about moving to an iPhone (for me) is that it's a gateway to getting a watch. This thing is amazing, I can do so much with it and I don't have to reach over for my phone so much now.

I'm presuming you moved from Android? I'm looking at doing the same - how have you found it?

It's refreshing to be honest. Being able to log in via Face ID on all the apps who didn't have a Face Unlock equivalent over in Android. Apps that are broken on Android that work fine on iPhone (I thought it was something on my network breaking them). Integration between my phone, watch and iPad.

One of the small things holding me back is that Google Photos currently has all my images in it. Can I keep using it on iPhone? Will anything change on that front, or do I just download the app and set off?
