I've gone from the X to the 12 Pro, biggest thing I've noticed is much better battery life (my X was rated 96%) but the thing is damn heavy. Speed wise it's nippier but makes you realise how the X isn't actually that slow.

Oh and camera is better as well but yea in hindsight probably would had waited.

thanks. Yeah, there is occasionally some iOS lag but nothing major... and it’s not like I often use my phone for processor heavy tasks. Some of the AI type stuff would be cool, but I feel like my phone does everything I want to and as fast as I can keep up.

cheers, I might try and hold out for the 13.

I'm guessing that's with the telephoto considering the differences in zoom. Not really a surprise that something with better optical zoom can get better clarity on something in the distance.

Looking at that list the UK 5G bands look to be included in the US versions. The US ones in fact have further 5G bands the UK version does not, unless I'm reading it wrong.

I've historically bought iPhones in the US and had absolutely no issues with compatibility over here.
Yeah that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. Hopefully she gets a Boston flight as sales tax is cheap there.

Noticeably heavier than the X? Or a “getting used to it heavier” I thought the X was heavy going from the 6S but got used to it. The new normal:) I’m upgrading to the 12 Pro from the X (84% battery, after 3 years).

I never liked the weight/size of the X so getting the 12 Pro wasn't the smartest of moves for me, I really should had waited for the mini.

I see many of reviewers are saying how those new iPhones have best cameras and so on but, I just cant understand, how no one really discuss how bad lens flare are on those, which makes all that "good quality" to rubish... I actually don't know any other smartphone having it so bad. And how Apple didn't even try to fix it, as it was already the same on previous models. Or is it just me? :D

It’s bad in videos in low light with blue dots all over the place from the lens flare.

edit:

Check out this mega lens flair achieved this morning.

I took a photo of my son sitting in front of his monitor in a dark room and on the image it was like he was sitting in fog. I haven't seen anything similar on other phone cameras before.

Got an order in for a 256gb Pro Max on Friday :)

Should be arriving on Friday and looking forward to it, coming from a Xs Max so looking forward to finally having wide angle camera and love the new design!

I must admit I find the camera on my 11 Pro to be a bit poor, unless it's in perfect light the photos look a bit grainy and overexposed slightly.

This one is better as it’s a full screen edge to edge protector.
Put mine on last night and it’s gone on smoothly without the edges lifting off or bubbles.

I'm happy with the one I have, the edges don't bother me in the slightest and I'm hopeless at installing screen protectors even with that sort of plastic frame so the fact that I managed to install this one perfect first time is a big plus for me.

I have had iPhones for years as I always assumed that it was the best camera but just not sure now. I recently changed to a Fold 2 to try something a bit different, my missus got a 12 Pro and I was expecting it to blow the fold away, enough to tempt me back lol. I use the ultrawide the most and the Fold 2 is consistently better than the 12 Pro, the detail levels are much better even though they are the same 12MPixel resolution.

This is a crop taken at the same time and the Fold just retains more detail.

I love Apple gear but I think the marketing overtakes reality most of the time....

Anyone coming from an 8 or earlier?

I'm still not sold on the not having a button thing..

You'll find it weird at first, but once you've used it for a while it will be natural.

They both look crap :D the UW cameras on most phones have inferior hardware compared to the main sensor, I go out of my way to never use UW in lower light.

For any folk that fitted screen protectors straight out of the box. Did you just peel off the shipped protector and apply the new one, or did you still clean and prepare after removing the one that comes on the shipped phone?
