Gmail doesn’t push to the iOS Mail app. The best you can do is set it so it ‘fetches’ email every 15mins (that’s the smallest time).
I did run with the mail app for my first year of iPhone but I ultimately defaulted to the dedicated Gmail app and it’s been great.

Believe it or not but some Google apps run and look better on iOS than they do on Android handsets.

Btw I forgot to say thank you so much for the tip. Saved me a lot of head-scratching for sure. And it worked out brilliantly also.

One way to get round it is to set up an email account (if you have your own domain) after which you can forward your gmail account to it. You can then do this to add the email to icloud. Notifications are instant now.
It's quite nice because Gmail filters all of the spam leaving your icloud inbox nice and clean.

Upgraded from a iPhone 8 Plus to a 13 Pro (also 256gb) two months ago, after having the 8 plus a few years - roughly since the iPhone X came out.

The main highlights / differences to me are the Screen (the resolution + 120hz refresh rate), cameras, FaceID, speaker is far better. It is a heavier and bulkier phone though than the 8 plus - immediately noticeable when you hold both in hand side by side. Generally speaking the rest of the experience feels the same, as expected but the battery life is amazing, could nearly go two days without needing to charge. I was put off going for the ProMax as it just felt unnecessarily large in the hand, definitely don't regret just going for the Pro.

I find it hard to justify the cost of the upgrade considering I felt the 8 Plus still did everything I need a phone to do and was still quick enough when it came to day to day use, apps etc.
I agree with all of the above, except for the last paragraph.

yes, the iPhone 8 Plus did all I needed it to do but I feel that the 13 pro is a far better phone for almost everything.

I often make use of the cameras extra pixels.

Had my 13 ProMax for just over four months now, noticed today that the battery capacity has dropped to 99%, is it normal to have dropped in only four months, admittely by only 1% though..

That's fine.

My iPhone 12 Pro Max had dropped to 92% with just 89 cycles after about eight months and Apple replaced the phone under warranty.

Morning all

So I currently have an iPhone XR via work on the Vodafone network but its 64gb (nearly out of space) and the camera is poor really so I want to upgrade to the 13 Pro/Max 128gb/256gb we get a corporate deal for personal handsets

With being a new customer would I be able to get any better discount other than what's website by calling them or could I get a better deal with Voda going via a third party website?

Not purchased a handset for 2 years so want to make sure I get the best deal - thanks

Personally I buy the handset direct from Apple on the iPhone Payment Plan - 0% over 20 payments. This gives me the flexibility to get a SIM only contract.

I've just realized this looks like the best way forward to me especially the 0% option, just need to decide if I go Pro Max or just the Pro version, will pop in store and see!

Thanks

Placed an order with Apple direct 24 month 0% interest

iPhone 13 Pro Max, 256GB, Graphite - Not had a new iPhone for years and coming from my (Work) XR I'm hoping it will be a good upgrade! Had the XS Max a few years back and loved that!

Now to buy a case and screen glass and magsafe charger!

Maybe it's because of the holiday weekend here in Northern Ireland but I'm starting to get that new shiny itch :p
Currently on the iphone 12 and the Pro Max is has a small discount over on Amazon down to £999. Its not the best discount but its handy to spread it over 5 months.
I did recently get issued with a new work phone, a very mediocre Samsung A32 however what I have learned since getting it is that I do miss the larger screen.
I had made my peace with not getting the 13 PM and to hold out for what the 14 may bring but I'm not convinced by the rumours so far.
