Sorry, forgot to mention either way I'd go with a Pro for the better camera battery, and refresh rate. So it's basically between 13 Pro (Max) and 14 Pro (Max).

Wireless charging is best suited to bedside table / office situations. You can still plug in your phone to charge when you need a lot of charge quickly but this is very infrequent for me, almost never.

Its unlikely that you need to charge your phone during the day if you have plonked it on a stand overnight, for most users.

I think having a wireless nightstand is great - much better than using a wire which feels dinosaur like tbh.

Yeh I’m kinda hoping I get it earlier than the 3-10 October window but I’m not holding my breath.

Was just annoyed that it deleted my pre order and made me go through it all over, which then meant I lost out on next weeks delivery date.
 
Erm, the 4G capability on my XR has stopped working.

1 - Turned wifi off, no internet when using only 4G.
2 - I can make and receive calls (Wifi off)
3 - I have rebooted it
4 - I have reset the sim setting inside Settings
5 - I have taken the sim out and put it into a Huewei P20 Pro, and 4G works on that fine with the same sim.

This is the gods telling me to get a new phone?

Doesn’t surprise me, the demographic of this forum generally sways things like that.
 
Had a pre-order lined up for the Pro, but had completely forgotten that 2 years ago my primary credit card was knocked back so my Apple store account has my backup credit card on it, which has been replaced in the meantime.

Space cadet here didn't spot the last 4 belonged to that card because I assumed it was the Apple Pay digital card number rather than the one on the actual plastic. By the time I'd realised, Apple had wiped the pre-order and I lost my 16th of September delivery slot. Going to be the 3rd to the 10th of October now, so I really felt like I'd let the other half down. Her godawful Oppo PoS (that's the model number, I swear to Bog it is, ahem :p;)) is on its last legs and she was really looking forward to getting my 12 Pro on Saturday.

She swears I'm not in the doghouse but it doesn't make me feel any better. I can handle personal disappointment, but letting the woman I love down? Sigh....
 
Could someone who knows their Apple products tell me what I would be getting from an iPhone 14 that I couldn't get from an iPhone 13 - I'm thinking of picking up a 13 as it's nearer my price range and still comes with 2 years warranty.

Would I be missing out on anything crucial?
 
Minor camera improvement, slightly bigger battery.
Imo it’s targeting people on 11’s or older really.
Grabbing a 13 pro would make more sense as a “stretch budget” choice over a 14 standard
 
I've pre-ordered the purple 256g 14 Pro Max direct with Apple and got a date of the 3rd October - 10th October. If I head to an Apple Store on Friday, am I likely to be able to pick up the phone in-store and cancel the pre-order?
