It's funny how all the previews gloss over this. It's an eye sore.

Apple have done well to give it functionality. Still doesn't change the facts.
This is why I've always been a fan of hole punch cutouts that are on either side of the screen, I don't like when they're in the middle.

So I'm definitely due an upgrade (rocking a second hand iPhone X) but I just still can't justify spending £1000 on a phone even if it does last me 3 or 4 years. I do love that dynamic island, and I did enjoy the 120Hz on the Pro display in the Apple store when i looked at the 13 pro, but...I can still manage with my X. That said, storage is now full(64Gb) so I need to sort something out in the near future for that..

The OS is exactly the same, it's utterly pointless upgrading phones until they die/become useless. :p

I'm well aware, hence I'm still on the X! It is running slow recently which sucks though, and as I say the storage being full. I've just had a look at iPhone 13 Pro's on EE and Vodafone, £60 a month! I think i'll stick with my sim only £20 a month, then

Ah, that's the built in obsolescence. :p

Had to phone apple this morning as I needed to verify my payment method again as my order got put on hold, and wasn't able to do it online. 40 minutes later I finally got it sorted.mwas very nervous my delivery date was going to get pushed back, but thankfully not.

It's now showing as preparing to ship. It's going to be a long week waiting I think.

I have the 13 Pro Max and I am tempted to upgrade but there's not much changes to justify spending so much money again on a new phone, they didn't even increased the storage from 128 to 256... I'm loving that Dynamic Island but I don't think it will be worth the money

So I’ve ordered the 14 pro 256gb in deep purple.
But god almighty was the pre order a shambles lol.
So after the event I went on the website and pre ordered one for Friday. So all went through with my 12 pro being used as a trade in against the finance, still have 2 payments to make. So £380 was the value they gave me and said after closing my account, it leaves me with 24 payments of £37 a mth. Just a few quid more than what I’m paying now.

Anyways come to 1pm and I’m trying to get in via the app. 5 mins later I’m in and go to my pre order, get to shipping stage of order and it throws up an error message. Times out and I try again and again same damn thing. Third times the charm right?? Nope I go in and again it times out but this time it completely wiped my pre order out .

So I’m like **** it I’ll try website rather than app. So I login in do the whole pre order thing again but it’s slow. But this time it goes through and I now get a date for 3-10 October.

Anyhow it is what it is I guess, disappointed that I won’t have my 14 pro for at least a few weeks. But have heard that I might get lucky and still get mine by next week but I doubt it. Because order screen on app is still giving me the date 3-10 October.

Not sure if anyone had the same issue as me, went on Reddit and seems like lots of people had issues.

I am torn, I really want to and in a way I could justify it, but knowing this is the last Lighting Cable iPhone...which for 1 year is not a problem, however I like to keep my phone 4-5 years, this means for the majority of the life of owning this phone will mean I need to keep a lighting cable around for much longer than I needed to...vs I could scrap all of them from next year.

Well, I guess it could be one more year...EU legislation is by fall of 2024. I still think it is silly not to have done it this year since the iPads are USB-C now for a couple of years. Anyway, I digress.

If you do the Barclays finance and trade in every year it becomes a bit easier to justify, I was paying £44 a month for my 13 Pro Max, I’m paying a couple of quid more to upgrade this year, my 13 Pro Max will be sent to Apple as a trade in to pay off the remaining of my loan.

Makes my monthly outgoings pretty much the same and I get the latest phone each year.
