No idea, I don't make a habit of writing down battery percentages. I use the thing all day and charge it overnight. It's really not something I think about.

To those who have got their phones, how's the AOD?

It's ok, but I'm finding it takes some getting used to. I'll see the AOD out of the corner of my eye and assume that I've had a notification as the screen is on.

I do like that when I walk past the phone if I leave it on my desk I can see at a glance without having to touch it if there's a notification there.

On the whole I like it, but I still need to get used to it.

I turned AOD off. I haven't had an Android phone for years but I quite liked the AOD that my S8 had. It was just a dark background with white text/icons and nothing more (I'm aware you could have it do more if you wanted). I like the minimalist approach to that, a simple glance to see battery, notifications and time is all I want, I don't need it showing my wallpaper etc as well and I do find it a little distracting.

Hopefully Apple give us some customisation options around AOD in a future update. I get why people do like it, but it would be nice to be able to tweak even a few small things.

Because I just do. Is it normal?

Obviously it’s normal. It’s not normal to note how much it drops over night though on a brand new phone.

AOD - rubbish, waste of time for me. Turned it off. It was just odd having the screen on all the time. Just going to kill the battery. Phone is in pocket, not required. When it’s out the pocket, if I need to see anything/check I’ll lift the phone up or it’ll alert me or my watch will bleep. I use a mount in the car, pointless having it on there as well, just a distraction or I’d be using maps. The night thing for the time, watch is on charge so again renders it pointless for me.

/rant over.

Re charging the other day, I think I’ve found the perfect solution but it’s not cheap.

This duel apple charger paired with This folding mat would mean 2 usb-c cables, one for iPad one for mat and I’ll be able to charge 4 devices.

Ridiculously expensive set up though….

It barely has any drain so for killing the battery I think that’s an over reaction?

The only downside I’ve seen is that the screen turns off when DND turns on. In bed glancing over to check the time when I wake up before my alarm is more annoying as the screen is off.

Yeh probably an over reaction

Couldn't agree more. Seems like a complete gimmick to me with little functional purpose, had it on my Samsung S8 years ago and didn't see the point then. I actually put my phone face down on my desk when I need to focus so would be a waste on me anyway lol.

It's nice but I don't use it that much due to my watch. I will say that the phone does know when you put it away as the AOD switches off. Try covering the top of the phone with something and see it happen.

Has anyone here upgraded from an 11 Pro to 14 Pro? I'm seriously tempted even though my 11 Pro is still going strong. Worth the upgrade?
I have, in a roundabout way (13 for a few months in between). I much prefer the form factor, screen and camera on the 14 Pro. Plus the dynamic island is really growing on me.
