Picked up one of these ahead of a trip to Korea next year, will be shooting in Pro Res so the direct record to SSD will be a blessing.

Had a little test and goodness me the file sizes are huge, a 17 second clip was 800mb!

If the rumours are true that iOS 18 and the iPhone 16 will have ChatGPT like AI built in I'll almost certainly upgrade. It would be great to get all of that within the Apple ecosystem.

Download the black magic camera app. It allows you to record the log format colour space in h.265 or h.264, which hugely reduces the file size of videos instead of ProRes, whilst also recording directly to the SSD attached.

I then made the small button on the side above the volume set to open the blackmagic app directly when held down.

I use a Samsung t7 SSD and slotted it into a stretchy MagSafe card wallet thing which fixes onto the back of a magsafe phone case. The card wallet has a small slot in it which you would normally use to push a card out, but instead is a perfect gap for the USB C cable. I used a flat ribbon style 10cm USB C cable. Works great.

Be warned … it chews the battery i found, but the log footage was great and a 1tb could save almost days worth of footage. So I also took a battery bank with my and would recharge when not using the camera ( like lunch or travelling etc )

Anyone know how much Apple would charge to replace a cracked lens on a 1 month old 14 Plus :(

My wifes handset and has no idea how it happened …..

Hi guys, bit of a question that’s asked a lot but maybe after a couple of months of usage you guys might have some good thoughts…

Has it been a good/worthwhile upgrade from a 13 pro to a 15 pro? What are the biggest benefits you’ve noticed the most?

£199 to replace the back glass iirc or £25 excess if you have Applecare + but if the camera is damaged an extra £169 without Applecare + or £79 excess with it for full replacement.

To be brutally honest, the only benefit I've found in my situation is I have been able to finally ditch the lightning cable.

New gadget syndrome gets the better of me.

Looking back it was delivered on the 7th of November so will add the AppleCare+ and get it fixed, I do t think the camera is broken just the lens, all still performs as expected…. HNY all!

Edit: Just checked her handset have 7 days left to enroll so done a monthly sub and will get that booked for repair this week …. Thanks for the advice/direction ;)

I’ve made this switch.

Just one cable and being able to share chargers with my GF (Google phone) is a real benefit.
The other is battery, the 15PM has really changed how I charge. I used to leave my 13 on overnight so I always had 100% every morning. Now I just charge here and there, knowing that even if the phone is on 50% or so, it’ll still last long enough with general use.

Microsoft Co Pilot can be used right now. But like GPT, it's slow as ****. If a built in version of this can be faster then great

Guys im heading to Miami at the end of the mouth for holidays. Is it worth picking up an iphone 15pro when over.. Im assuming it will work over here?

There are also a few differences in what bands are supported, but not sure how much this affects US > UK usage, but as ChrisD. says, the big thing is no sim tray.
