Are you getting an iPhone 15?

I think the iPhone 16 is going to be really good with Apple focusing on AI and other things like that so I would say if you can wait until September it may well be worth it.
Honestly I don't think I need the upgrade, the only thing that tempts me is I seem to go through lightning cables at an alarming rate and USB C is an attraction to cut down another set of cables for travelling with work.

I'll hold fire for now - Thanks

Fair enough but your claim a person won’t scratch it is just naive.

I just keep my phone in my pocket, unless I’m using it. I don’t sit it down any place other than on the the magsafe in the car, desk or bedside table. I don’t have anything in my right pocket apart from my phone. So the chances of me scratching it are pretty much slim to nothing, no? Just do the same

Admittedly I did scratch the screen on my 14 pro, which annoyed the life out of me. First time it’s happened to me. It occurred during the security checks at the airport. I naively put the phone facedown (as the screen is solid!) in those black tubs they use and when I picked it up it was scratched. So frustrating. So now I just take a spare sock and pop it in that to go through customs.

I'm the same and I've always been scratchless. Until last year, I don't know how it happened, where it happened or when it happened but one day I noticed a whole load of scratches on my screen. Still won't be getting a protector though.

See me comments RE: scratching earlier in this thread.

I got a 3mm scratch on my 15PM screen within a week of getting it.

I'm always very careful with my stuff — I never have anything else in the pocket with my phone like keys etc. — still managed to scratch it almost instantly.

*Edit* plus, I work from home at a desk, it's not like I'm a construction worker or anything.

If I'm able to upgrade in the near future I'm consider the 15 Pro Max over S24 Ultra, seems like the S24 Ultra edges slightly with the camera however has some glaring issues, which is always the case with Samsung, for example, lots of noise in dark situations, lack of color in dark situations, possibly still not fast enough re shutter lag, zoom isn't as good.

However..

Does iPhone have any answer to multi tasking, split screen is great, I can have web browser on half the screen open with my smart shop app other half scanning, so great multi tasking, and also cloning app, on Android I can use work profile and add "Island". Those are some of the concerns I'd have moving to Apple

I find it amusing no one can see the use of multi tasking and how it's pointless on a phone, I get you don't see any point yourself but it's easy to see the uses.

Simple things, calculator and other app, maybe looking at website and writing something down from it in notes, I'd like to see someone with a MacBook Pro walking around Sainsbury's scanning their food with their MacBook and looking at recipes on it as well.

App switching is so quick it negates that requirement IMO. Swipe across the bottom and voila I'm in the previously used app. If Apple brought it in, I personally wouldn't use it, just like I don't use it on my iPad because it's not required except fringe use cases.

As someone that's trying very hard to nit pick on iOS after 10+ years on Android I have to agree. Not once did I ever use multi tasking, it's far simpler to switch between a notes app and Smart Shop.

In the nicest way possible surely this is a bit of a you issue and writing a list rather than looking at recipes as you walk around a supermarket is far easier

It would be a lot easier to have my notes app up while im using my phone to scan my shopping then try to import it/rewrite in the scan and shop app's list feature. One of those features that I don't need but would be a nice to have when the time calls for it.
