It's here and.... software update.

Initial impression are whilst the phone is large, I think I'm going to enjoy the size of the screen.

Will keep my 14 Pro for a week before trading it in.
very nice i am jealous lol. although i am not desperate my 13 pro max is still perfectly fine.

It connects to my network at 2.5 Gbps, nice!
Impressive. Mine is maxing my VM 1gig on the wireless which is great, dunno how high it will go after that.
EDIT: I'm also a convert from Pro to Pro Max. I thought the larger screen would grate on me but so far so good.

Back from the O2 store, SIM transferred. Now having issues with not being able to restore all my WhatsApp chats despite them being fully backed up on the old phone and in iCloud etc.

What router are you using to connect at 1gb? Must be something with 6E?

This will be(When my 15 pro max arrives) the first Apple to Apple phone. this will be new to me normally i have been on a Samsung and just set up the phone as a new device. i deleted all my WhatsApp app messages and just started a new one, this time the only backups i would like to transfer are my banking apps. whats app(inc messages)txt messages.

I've had a few hours and thought I'd share my initial thoughts from going from a 14 Pro to a 15 Pro Max:
  • Difficult to use 1 handed, so extra caution is needed if you use it without a case like I do.
  • With that said, the screen size for me more than makes up for it. I'm loving it.
  • 2.5 Gbps connection to my home network via a USB-C cable is extremely useful for moving files to and from my NAS, including Synology Photos (yes I have iCloud Photos but I use Synology as a backup).
  • The weight feels similar to the 14 Pro which was my biggest gripe with it, if anything it feels lighter as it's not as top heavy.
  • I personally make fewer mistakes when typing on it; I'm 41 now so perhaps my eyesight and finger accuracy (ooh err) isn't as good now as it used to be. This is also the reason I'm crap at PC games now.
  • The actual feel of the phone is nicer due to the less angular edges. The 14 Pro could feel a little industrial. In fact it's one of the things I preferred about my 11 Pro when I changed to the 14 was the round edges.
So far so good, I haven't had chance to play with the camera properly but I'm sure it'll be fine for me. Also no quality related issues which were posted about earlier in the thread.

Anyone having weird transaction issues with their credit card? My payment declined despite plenty of credit, thought that’s weird - went back into the store, updated to another card, processed and authorised via text code (Barclaycard) - can see the 0.00 transaction but also declined ‍♂️
