Yep you can. I've left it on my iPad Pro as it's mostly at home. Turn ProMotion off as follows:

Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Limit Frame Rate

How much of a difference does it make? You’d hope with VRR, which these devices support, it doesn’t make a significant difference.

I upgraded from 14pm to 15pm cause it cost me effectively £250 to make the jump and the upgrades were worth it for me at that price. With the 15pm I can see myself keeping it for 3-4 years now that we have finally moved to USB-C. Faster charging speeds will not be that appealing as it charges fast enough at 27W anyway and camera improvements I feel the jump between phones is getting smaller and smaller.

Let us know when you’ve pre-ordered the 16pm ;)

I'll give this a shot later, its not something that I've noticed I'm missing when swapping between devices, and if the battery lasts longer when its off, then that's a trade I'm happy with..

Back from the O2 store, SIM transferred. Now having issues with not being able to restore all my WhatsApp chats despite them being fully backed up on the old phone and in iCloud etc.
I had that issue when I got my 13PM. Hoping I don't get the same again with 15PM....

I went to the web thinking the same but issues still presenting! Will try again tomorrow and if not give them a call - don’t want it delayed!
Managed to get this sorted, seemed like an Apple Pay issue (bank wouldn't authorise that amount via Apple Pay - god knows why) and when I tried to update to just the card details the system was borking as it expected Apple Pay for some reason. Guy one the phone removed the Apple Pay details and re-added my credit card for me.

Anyone else got the apple silicone case? I’m finding it awful! It’s like velvet and attracts every bit of lint! Can it still be returned for a refund despite opening? If not I’ll pop it on eBay or somewhere.

Yes it certainly can, I sent back the finewoven case today which was opened as I only put it on the phone once.

Had the Mous limitless 5.0 case with a walnut back arrive today much better case and well worth looking at one.

cHEERS ALL

Anyone else considering cancelling their pre order with these reports of overheating?

It’s tough to say just how widespread they are, I’m just starting to have doubts about my 15 pro order. Maybe I should keep my 13 pro.

The only reason I upgrade every two years is because then it roughly costs me £25 a month to have a new phone every two years and keeps everything current.

I have got and setup mine. love it.

only thing im having an issue with is my AWU and syncing EE to the mobile connectivity..but no big deal, always had a hassle with that damn EID number or whatever its called.

15 Pro arrived today, really glad I went with Natural Titanium instead of black - almost identical colour to the AWU which is what I was expecting. Feels much nicer to hold, maybe I should have got a Pro Max instead :D

As an aside - does anybody have any experience with EE's insurance with applecare services? Seems a little bit cheaper but seemlingly has the same cover as Applecare+? Anything I'm missing?
Edit: Prices shown aren't correct, they're ~ double for iPhones so dearer than AppleCare+

The differences between the vanilla and the pro look very marginal to me (the average user). The pro camera might sway me, but the actual sensor seems to be the same on both and you only lose the 5x optical zoom with the non-pro. Probably not a massive issue given the resolution of the sensor. Hmm

Good camera improvements this year by the looks of it.

Currently using Mous Limitless 5.0 & ESR Halolock Magsafe Wallet, liking the combo so far:

I’d just go with apple I think, more so if the prices are double.

No, I’ve had mine since Friday and it’s never went hot.

Seems to me this always happens with new iPhone.

“I forcibly bent my iPhone and it actually bent”

“I walloped my iPhones screen with a hammer and nail and it cracked the screen”

“I stress tested the hell out of my new iPhone and it started to run hot can you believe it, they should add a fan, so I can run tasks with it that no person would ever actually do”

The Pro has Promotion or whatever it’s called, essentially 120 Hz screen and it’s much better.

If they don't move my Oct 2nd onwards delivery forward by this Friday then I am cancelling too and keeping my 12 Pro Max. I'm still pretty annoyed that they completely botched the preorder at 1pm. Looks like a minimal upgrade anyway. I also do not get the "120hz you won't look back" nonsense. I go from using my 120hz iPad M2 Pro every day to my iPhone and it's really not a big deal.
Kind of glad at the response I got to this, I thought you were all going to hate on me but really interesting to hear some people don’t even agree with the 120hz. I wasn’t aware of the option on the M2 iPad to turn it off but what I will say is on battery saver mode it does look a bit laggy, not sure if that turns it down to 60hz or lower but it feels like a slideshow in that mode compared to the 60hz iPhone 12 Pro Max. Much more noticeable than going from the 12 to the iPad without battery saver on. Unfortunately I have to use the saver mode for photo editing as the M2 overheats otherwise and dims the display but in the process of speaking to Apple about that, hopefully a hardware issue.
