Been using mine since Friday, pro max upgrade from a 12 pro.

Pros:
Love the screen size but device doesn’t feel massive like last time I had a plus size.
It’s rapid as you’d expect - hadn’t broken a sweat.
Battery life is so strong - only charging I have done has been on wireless in the car on short journeys - for all the desire to get usb C I haven’t even plugged it in yet.
Screen looks great, blacks etc seem much better and the pro motion display is much smoother to the eye.
It feels much lighter than it should.
Camera is a noticeable step up in quality from the 12pro.

Cons:
I don’t love the colour… natural titanium, isn’t a nice as my pro12 blue, 13s green and 14s purple… just feels a bit bland.

Does anyone know if there's a Way to get hold of a brand new 15 pro in the next 2 weeks sim free without a contract? Or is it just a case of waiting for apple.com to restock?

It's for my Mrs, I've said what about getting a deal with a contract and just throwing away the sim card but she's worried that the company will increase the price of the contract by inflation or more, which is a fair point as you're paying off a £1000 phone which 10% is a big rise for.

Apple or Amazon but everyone is OOS no matter where you go.

It be another month before stock is normal again.

It is a valid point but do they not all only up the charge of the tariff portion of the contract rather than the whole thing?

O2 certainly do this - the device plan part does not see any yearly RPI + 3.9% increase so if the other networks do this then that’s incredibly scummy of them.

However it’s also a very expensive way to do it if you’re not going to be using the SIM anyway so I definitely wouldn’t do that.

I think all of the networks have moved to a model where the device and Airtime are distinctly separated.

Vodaphone and Three both certainly do as well as O2

Your best bet is trying your luck at an Apple Store, or getting one through a carrier.

There used to be a website which tracked stock at Apple Stores.

Thanks both I had no idea phone firms did this. I think she's gonna miss out on a new phone for holiday now. She's even tempted by a £900 one she's seen on "mozillion" but I'm concerned that the warranty will be worth nothing all for a £100 discount and having it soon.

Just been reading MacRumors and the issue with wireless chargers wrecking the NFC chip so apple pay doesn't work anymore. I wonder if it's the heat killing the chip? On the forums regular iphone 15 user also has the issue without using the BMW wireless charging.

I never trust those wireless charging pads in cars anyway. I used my wife's one only once and when I picked my phone up I thought it had gone nuclear. I'm more than happy to slow charge over night.

Warranty will be with Apple and you can still take out AppleCare+.

So true fast charging still isnt a think I see on the ip15/15 pro. ‘20W + for fast charging’
I wonder when iphones will accept 140W charging. They’ll be 50% in minutes then

Got my Pro a couple days ago, excellent phone, zero problems with overheating. Very fast, nice weight reduction compared to the 13 pro. Battery life seems really impressive.

That is because you take out hp for the phone and it's different from the sim deal. Thank god EE does not do this.
They do now. Got a couple of contracts where one can be renewed in the old way, but the other I’ll be stuck with their new Flexpay “deal”. Hard pass… 36 month device plan?! No thanks.

Question for people who have turned off always on display.

What was the reason you did it?

I have just turned it off because i use the display coming on as an extra "alert" that i have a notification. I usually have my phone in silent mode with the flashing LED for notifications/alerts and i kept thinking i had an alert when it caught the corner of my eye. Weird thing really but was a bit of an odd thing i didnt think would be an issue.

I turned always on display off because it just doesn't do anything for me. I don't need or want my phone catching my attention unless I'm waiting for an important call or whatever and in that scenario I'll have my watch on which will do all the alerting I need anyway.

Just set the AOD to not "Show Wallpaper" and keep the clock viewable on the AOD. That way, the screen stays black, still wakes upon a notification and your clock is viewable.

Most pointless feature for me. My phone is either in my pocket, on my desk/phone holder in car or charging.

So, if I get a notification the screen will alert me to it or it’ll vibrate/ring whatever. Or alert on watch.

It just sitting there in the desk with the screen lit very dull is just wasting battery for me. If I need to see the time, I can either look at my watch or tap the screen. If I’m actually needing to look at it I’d pick it up and I’ll light up if you will.

I just can’t see a situation where it’s a benefit to have a dull screen on full time? You’re either going to look at the thing or not. Or read the notification. It’s going to distract you either way.

It's certainly more useful the way it's implemented on Android with notification icons giving you a quick glance at things that may need your attention.
