That’s ridiculous, with banking etc apps I’d struggle to get back in sadly as they want a “current” device for authentication on new.

Yeh, that would be an absolute disaster. I would factory the new phone and try porting it over again.

Keep the old device up and running until you have everything set up on the new one.

Then transfer the sim over.

Which banking apps what’s the current one to authenticate signing onyo New phone?

if using a 2fa app then yeh you neee to move this over first unless it has a iCloud backup feature.

Ooo sneaky gits at music magpie. Had a price locked in and checked out today but opted for the kiosk drop off for £20. Completed order and see it changed to £50.

Live chat say sorry it’s a technical issue so I should cancel and rebook for postal. Oh look the value of the phones £30 less today than I had locked in. That is a very sus technical glitch if you ask me, one they cannot alter the price on or even shift it to a postal option for me……

You can just de-authorise the 'digital secure key' part of banking apps on the old phone first and then just set up the new one. Need to remember your passwords though lol. 2FA like google authenticator etc you will need to back up or use cloud.

Ah, as I said a few posts ago I tried the kiosk last Saturday it didn’t work in the end I sold it for cash at a loss. Shame, that does sound crafty

Cancelled my order for now.

It was due for Oct 23rd and I see no point in waiting till then when I can see how this 'heatgate' lark pans out because one of our engineers at work has a 15 Pro Max and it has been hot for days. I only see the chap once a week so today he told me that that the rear was hot to the touch upon picking it up from a wooden desk.

Has anyone on here run into any heat issues with the 15 Pro Max? Mines due between 17-24 but tempted to cancel if the issue is widespread

Mine and the wife’s due tomorrow, I’m coming from a 12 pro and her a standard 11 so decent upgrades for us both - I’m looking forward to the larger screen real estate of the max

Only time I have experienced it being warm was when I was using the satnav in my car with the music streaming to my car while charging but it didn’t feel that warm. Mine is a pro max and I am not what you would call a power user so might not have properly experienced it yet.

No not really, it does get warm when busy, ie app updates, software update, and the transfer but nothing more than what my 14 Pro did.

Could the heat be related to the OS performing indexing activities post migration? If there is an issue, perhaps Apple will release a software update to fix it? However if it throttles the processor/GPU, that won’t look good, especially after the controversy related to batteries and throttling a few years back. I don’t believe Apple have ever made production hardware changes within the lifecycle of an iPhone before though.

Could be a rogue system process that’s driving a hardware item harder than it should or an app that just requires an update. I hope it eventually gets sorted.

Hopefully, they can resolve it without having to reduce CPU performance as the following article hints at.
