I don't buy that tbh. If I set up my iPhone 11 from scratch it doesn't get hot, neither did my wife iPhone 14. My M1 iPad did though and it ate battery. The only time I would accept it getting hot it playing intensive games, or it's poorly designed.
Gonna monitor if not I’ll return and just sit out until next year I guess.

Been a while since I’ve done set up an iPhone so can’t recall, if my previous iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 13 got hot transferring data over.

Gonna put in my sim and run it as my daily over next week and see how I get on.

Need to get a case just incase I do return so don’t damage it.
If I’m happy with probably run caseless and get apple care and just use a screen protector.

As if it’s anything like the iPhone 13 remember the screen was so easily scratched

What?? How on earth are they trying to justify that? Or is this normal amongst operators now?

When I upgraded to the 15, I forgot to put my sim in the new phone and it just auto switched me to an eSim on EE. Absolutely mental that a network would try and charge anything, let alone £170

Sorry if been asked and imagine it has! But does the 15 Pro Max (UK) have a physical SIM card slot?

Three are wanting £170 for the pleasure to upgrade my sim to eSIM.
That's incredulous!
Are you sure they weren't trying to pull a fast one by making you "buy out" your current contract in the process of the Sim transfer?

Can anyone recommend a really cheap eSIM primarily for incoming calls? £5 would be good £10 would be max. No need for data at all. I'd prefer to not have a contract.

There's GiffGaff who now do eSIM as far as I know £6 for 2GB and unlimited minutes/texts, runs on O2.

Seems currently you'd need to activate a physical SIM and then transfer that to an eSIM, but it's not much of a faff.

15 Pro Ti 512GB arrived today, somewhat unexpectedly. It’s bloody nice. Front and rear screen protectors arriving tomorrow, so handling it with kid-gloves atm

Anyone here heard anything about looking around the USB-C port to see if your phone was made in China or India, apparently its the India ones that are having issues...
