Some users on Reddit report burn in

Looks really bad, never seen such bad burn in before so assume it's some random defect

You actually get different types of burn in and this one may not be caused by long exposure to static elements, the phone is only out for a month, there may just be something wrong with the panel causing the pixel to rapidly degrade, the second photo seems to support that given the shape of the shadowing

O

17.1 RC release notes have the following

  • Fixes an issue that may cause display image persistence

Multiple people reporting the issue is fixed with the update.

That's good.

It also means it wasn't actually burn in. Actual burn in can't be fixed by updating your OS and restarting the device and voila it's gone. It was probably just a weird bug causing the screen not to refresh pixels or something creating the impression of burn in but actually it was just a stuck pixel, stuck due to the software bug. So no need to RMA the phones, just update iOS and the issue is gone. I did voice my salt in the original post, as it is uncommon to experience burn in so quickly on an OLED and also the pattern of the "burn in" in those photos is not consistent with the way burn in usually presents itself, especially in the second photo where there is a big blotch in the center of the screen, burn in doesn't usually appear like that, its usually very well defined outlines of logos

Had my 15 Pro Max delivered today. Are the camera settings best left as they are or should I be enabling Pro Raw & Resolution Control?

Never used a screen protector before but decided to give the Torras one a go mentioned on here. It’s fantastic and so easy to apply!

Depends on what you’re doing, do you need high res images? If not, just leave them as is.

Is 5G faster on the 15 Pro/Pro Max? I've always been curious whether a new phone will give me faster speeds. I have a 13 Pro Max so I'm a bit behind in terms of tech.

Ended up ordering the 15 Pro 256 in Blue. Delivery early November but I’m in no rush. My 11 Pro is absolutely battered, cracked back, front, smashed lens.

Time for a case this time I think.

Is anyone else with a 15 Pro Max having audio/video sync issues when sending video recordings via whatsapp (as in shooting the video with the whatsapp camera and then sending it)

No issues with that here.

Talking of issues, I can’t seem to preview images from WhatsApp notifications on the Lock Screen since updating to the latest iOS. I just see a blurry image and spinning loading circle. Is anyone else having this issue?

I got one of the first batches of 15 PM (white) in the first week and I’ve not had one single issue with it. No high temps, no burn in, and getting 2-3 days out of one full charge. I can definitely notice the increase in main camera quality coming from the 14 PM thanks to the 48MP main camera too. Very happy with it, although it’s not much of a change va the 14 PM.

Glad the 15 series supports 160Mhz channels for WiFi, means I can get my full speed.
