2x 256GB iPhone XS Max in Space Grey

Greedy or one for the other half? :D:D:D
One for the mrs :)

Hadn't planned to upgrade as I like the larger size handsets but as soon as the max was announced (and I saw it was the same size as the Plus but with a larger screen) then I was all over it. Replacing my 7 Plus, so a nice little bump.

How’re you finding the upgrade @EVH ? I jumped from an 8 to an Xs. I couldn’t be happier. A big plus for me is the battery is lasting a lot longer. And that screen, wow!

The speakers too surprised me, excellent sound from them.

And Face ID. I didn’t think I’d gel with it but again, Touch ID feels like old tech in comparison.

Problem is this phone was sent in error by them and the contract is linked to the other phone they sent.

It has been on Vodafone PAYG sim only for a few month though so I guess it should be ok ?

Neither of us have actually opened the box yet!

I wanted to get a case and backup the old phones before I opened the boxes, so I spent the evening staring at the boxes and trying to resist the urge to mess around. Oh and watching lots of YouTube videos about FaceID and accessories etc.

Wow. That’s some will power right there ! good choice though. They need a case (the polished metal bands are very prone to finger prints and micro scratches. I’ve already had to use a cape cod polish cloth on mine, stupid metal stud on my jeans caught the band )

PAYG sim will be fine, as would dropping in the contract sim.

The phone is linked to the network, not the sim inside it.

Still waiting for this Bare case (some novel not-quite-TPU-or-polycarbonate-material) to show up, atm my £1.1k phone goes in a trainer sock before it goes in my pocket. Irony not lost on me. Should have just ordered a cheap crappy case to pass the time with ehhhh. Feels like Russian Roulette every time I hold it at the moment.

Anyone else having the charging issue ? Not sure if it’s worth swapping mine or it’s a software issue.

Doesn’t happen all then time... but it’s there.

No. Not on my Xs.

I did have this issue on my 8 after updating to iOS 12 though.

So I’m putting it down to software issue.

I’d wait for the initial comment from Apple, my money is on a software issue.
It may not be related, but I thought Apple updated iOS so that devices wouldn’t connect to USB devices if they’d been turned off for a period of time.

They did this to stop hackers using usb-powered crack boxes from exploiting errors in the passcode unlock system.

I’d be interested to know if anyone has had the issue when the device has been used in the last minute before it got plugged in.

Surely Apple aren't that stupid? Must be a bug that they can fix with a sw update
