What did the Yankeedoodle say?
Calling now....
Edit: Out of Stock, and they don't know when there will be more. Advised me to signup to the notifications (I haven't even had the notification from this morning's release yet!!!)

Ah...The number puts you through to the American call centre, it's the only call centre they have.
What I don't understand is why we can't simply order? I don't know many retailers that don't allow you to order unless the item is in stock.
It would save a lot of hassle.
Apple keep information locked down but when it comes to buying their products, the bit that makes them money, they're very clear about it. Why oh why can we not just order now with an indefinite lead time?

Is everybody's changing to "shipping estimate"? Mine has, I've noticed.
If they aren't, I'm a little annoyed, as I made my order successfully within the minute it went live, then the system failed, then mine changed to "pre-order" (which of course doesn't exist), then my second went through while the first stayed on pre-order.
We'll see. Not fussed about waiting, but fussed about Google cocking it up.
Reading the Anandtech review now...let's see...
Play store. At the very bottom - My Orders & Settings.
Just read anandtech review:
Good:
- screen seems amazing
- build quality and the feel sounds great, seems pretty durable too (he dropped it 4 times)
- data connection stuff looks very good
- performance seems good (when in a freezer for most of them)
Bad:
- battery life looks terrible :/ (although never base much on these as it could be much better in normal/real world usage i.e. just compare the X and one S in real world use and benchmarks)
- camera looks good, however, not as good as the one S/X and GS 3 overall. 1080P video recording looks very poor, the jerkiness and light metering doesn't seem any better than HTC one S/X and it looks less sharp than both too. Nowhere near the GS 3 1080P video recording
- audio sounds good but again the loudspeaker sounds average compared to the GS 3 and one S
All in all it seems like a great phone though and certainly can't go wrong for the price, definitely the phone I would be getting if I where coming from older phones like the DHD, GS 2 etc. Although as someone else said earlier on in the thread, GS 3, note II and one XL/X/X+, one S users will have to have a good think about it.
I think gsmarena's review will have the same opinions as anandtech so looks like I won't be getting one to replace my S
Pros of the S over N4, for me:
- build quality and the design (IMO)
- camera overall for video and photo quality as well as features plus the UI (supposedly the camera quality has much improved in the JB/sense V4+ update meaning the difference will be even bigger and the UI has been further improved)
- audio (loudspeaker)
- by the looks of things so far, battery seems much better (and won't even compare once a X+ battery is in the S) (although will wait for user opinions on this)
- prefer sense overall
Pros of the N4 over the S, for me:
- far better NLED
- bigger and better screen
- stock android so get updates faster
BTW, anyone see the bin hoker in the 1080P video at the end, lol![]()

http://mashable.com/2012/11/12/nexus-4-review/
"On my iPhone 5, I’m lucky if I can get through 10 hours with heavy to moderate use. With the Nexus 4, I was able to go 14 hours before needing to recharge the phone — and this was with tons of open apps, lots of online communications, tons of data downloads and even some quality time with Grand Theft Auto III."
This battery life stuff is so conflicted in every review. Your one says bad, the last one I posted says good:
I don't even know anymore. I'lll wait till you guys review it before I buy
Completely useless info. by that site just like the rest.
For starters; no screenshots??? What about screen brightness and how long the screen was on for? Wifi or/and mobile data connection? GPS use? Anything syncing? What are these apps that he was using, which remained opened the entire time? Games, file management, media players? He is sort of wrong about that because android doesn't keep every app running in the background (obviously music players etc. will), once you return to the homescreen or go to another app from say a news app, the news app will be essentially suspended, it will stay in the memory (RAM) but won't use any other resources until you return to the app.
So technically it could be viewed as apps being opened.... however, going by what he said, he seems to think it affects battery life, but it really has little to no effect on battery life.
God, it really is unbelievable the amount of people that don't know how to properly test battery life and give the relevant info. even on XDA (where you would think that the members would actually know what to post etc.) at least 80-90% of the people post useless info. only ever post the one screenshot (the usage bar chart for apps) and that is it, no other info.![]()

I'm either being really dense or I don't have one (a shipping estimate). When I click that link at the bottom of the play store I get:
Where yours says 'complete', mine says 'shipping estimate'.
The one you posted was utterly useless though!![]()
