***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Battery life is the thing that I'm most interested to find out about. I'm betting that it'll be better than my iPhone 5 (which I know sounds ridiculous, but I've been getting dire battery life on mine). The rest of the device is no-compromise to me - the sound quality through the headphone jack will be perfectly adequate (don't listen to a huge amount of music on my phone, just occasional, and typically on the bus), the camera is fine (basically don't take photos at all), the storage is plenty...and it's cheap!

However, as others have said, Google have messed up these orders, and I'm not particularly happy. Still pretty ticked off about the "pre-order" status of a device that cannot be pre-ordered.

The reason I opted for the 8GB is simply because 99% of the time I also have my tablet with me, and that's what holds most of my media, I don't really use my phone for music or films so the 8GB is fine for me, I'll be ordering the 32GB N10 at the end of the month though, for me I wouldn't be happy with a low storage tablet...

I didn't expect the phones to sell out so fast.. I saw them for sale on the store this morning, only for them to be out of stock by the time I got to work. Guess my old blackberry has been saved from Ebay for now :-)

Will you need it? The only big items I store on my phone are Roms and music, so I've used up only about 3gb.

its personal choice, in a ideal world we would have amazing internet and no black spots and 8gb would be ample, but we dont so those that love music and use it as a primary MP3 player and also like games can find 8gb is noooooo way near enough, where as my mrs would only ever use around 1gig on a smart phone, mainly pictures.

id imagone new stock will be 2-3 weeks so its not that bad

Depends how much stock there is, really. There's a massive demand for it now, and obviously if they have this again (not being able to pre-order and the site getting spammed with people trying to buy it) a lot of people I imagine will be fed up and opt for something different, or just wait for another phone.

The hype train for something like this does, and will die off. Reviews will also come in soon and may drive people off if the battery in particular isn't that great and there are QC issues. It would have made much more sense for Google to have a high stock now, opposed to in 2-3 weeks time, or at least allow pre-orders on it, so they can anticipate the number they need, and fulfil orders in a first come first serve basis.

People want it now, because it's shiny and new. When the shiny and new factor dies down in a month or so, people who have a high-end phone now, wont care half as much as they did this morning, if at all.

An 8mp camera takes 2.5 - 4mb photos. I have 5.3gb of photos and videos I have taken on the gs2. That is some video and photos; 692 items in gallery

I have 50Gb of Dropbox storage, any photos I take get uploaded to it when I get within range of any WiFi. Then I can just remove it from my mobile and carry on.

That is a good system. However more and more people use phones as mobile photo albums; if you work out 4mb a photo that means on a 4gb space you can hold 1000 photos which is a nice number to consider if others want to compare what is on their phone now vs what would be on a nexus 4.

8GB (5-6GB in reality) of storage really is a joke. The last phone I had with that little was the Samsung Omnia 7 and it got eaten up like there's no tomorrow. 16GB is quite a difference (which should be obvious - it's double).

Rubbish, 16GB is still pathetic. You'll be micro managing files with both.
