***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

That's just a stupid comparison.

16GB isn't enough for a lot of people to store what they normally on their phone. I, for example, use my phone as my only portable music player, and I like to have access to my whole library. It's not huge, at around 12GB, but that would be enough to fill the 16GB nearly on it's own!

Just because you don't use your phone for things which require a lot of storage space, doesn't mean that everyone else doesn't! It's not an unreasonable idea, and it's certainly not uncommon! With the amount that current phones can do, why not make the most of them, which you can't do with only 16GBs.

I use all my phone's features and yet on my HOX, 22.2GB available....

Music, I use Google Play or Spotify and stream it all.
Films, I use a streamer to stream them from my server.
Apps, most are tiny.

Unlimited data contract is the way forward.

To be honest, I could easily get away with the 8GB version of the N4.

I wanted a 16GB but despite trying to order since the second orders started I couldn't get one. I got an 8GB however.

I'm not worried about space for photos as I have a 32GB Lumia 920 and a 32GB PadFone 2 both with better cameras than the Nexus. I also use Spotify and Google Music so my stuff can be in the cloud so 8GB is fine. I only went for 16GB for resale value.

Slightly off topic I should do an unboxing of the PadFone 2 as no one really seems to have any video or unboxings of it compared to every other phone out there!

To all you people who wanted a 16GB but ordered an 8GB and are now regretting it, thanks and I hope you are inconvenienced in returning it. You have stopped people who would have been happy with an 8GB from getting one.

So... any word if it was Google unprepared for the huge demand, or purposely having small limited stock?

I hope more Nexus 4/10s comes into stock soon...

EDIT: Nevermind, saw the post above about stock right after I posted this :p.

Do the video of the Padfone 2 Mate. Also if possible can you tell us if the phone is good or not. There's a Padfone forum here so if you could post your thoughts on there I think users would find it extremely helpful!

Hopefully a new release is soon then! I need a new phone, but I also need more hard drives & another SSD!

lols whos ****ed that they didnt get the phone ;)

Nah not really. I went to bed at 8, didnt want one. But I feel sorry for those who waited up and couldnt get one due to others panic buying what they didn't really want. Some people have probably ended up with more than one because of impatience, couldnt wait until the system acknowledged their order.

If you don't get it today, the next scheduled release is in 3 days once they can get a better handle on orders and stock.

What is the point in them even saying this? The whole reason it was a shambles this time is they didn't specify (or stick to ) exact release times. That statement gives me no additional faith that batch 2 will be handled correctly as they don't mention a time/date etc.

I appreciate they don't want to create a backlog, but at this rate each release of additional stock will just lead to crazy F5'ing and people ordering multiple handsets or mis-ordering then cancelling. They should just let people place an order now and ship, 1st come, 1st serve. I suspect this thread would be a lot less busy if that were the case :)

After being pushed away from the lumia 920 to one of these I'm hoping they get stock soon, my work are buying me the phone and trying to get them on the ball with placing an order once is hard enough....trying to get them to check back for stock periodically is impossible! :p (not that i should complain, after all it is free lol)

I really don't understand why they cannot just let everybody put their orders on and then start shipping them as stock arrives in the order they came in. This would solve all the issues...

That's the last thing they want. Selling out in an hour makes the news, free adverts.

Having 12gb of music on your phone is just as stupid. Why isn't everyone who doesn't live in a desert or valley with no 3g not using google music? Having your photos automatically uploaded instantly isn't a bad way of making sure your favourite pics are safe either. 16GB is plenty for 99% of users.

edit: i forgot about the tube. can you tell i'm not from london?:p
