Don't need a cutter, just use scissors.
Yeah CPW should be giving you a replacement surely. Hope you get it sorted out, can see Google/LG having a few angry customers on their hands (besides stock issues) if the phones can smash easily.
And my order still says pending 5-6 weeks and no money has been taken out, so may turn up tomorrow lol.
Apparently there was no one else more senior on the phone. I reiterated quite clearly that I was not happy about paying £100 more for the phone to then be given minimal customer service and told to contact LG myself. Three people left the queue behind me.
I'm currently having a pint and steak to chill out then I'll prepare an email when I get home ready to be sent to CPW tomorrow.
Livid isn't the word. Google told me they'd have replaced it.
Are they basically refusing to replace it because it looks like physical damage or are they not taking responsibility of the warranty they must provide?
Two different things I think and I can see why the former might cause a problem.
Hopefully just a manufacturing defect on that one? I mean otherwise surely we would hear about a lot more breaking if it could be done that easy.
Problem is I'm scared of screwing up.Don't need a cutter, just use scissors.
Dunno, who you are with but I think all the 4 main networks let you walk into a shop and get a blank micro-sim (stock permitting). I knowEE/T-mob/Orange definitely do and so do O2.Problem is I'm scared of screwing up.
If I were to have a go, how much do I cut off from the SIM card?![]()

If you want to go the cutting route, al those phone unlocking shops/market stalls will have a proper SIM cutter (looks like a stapler) and they will chop it for £1-£2 quid.

They are saying it isn't listed as a common manufacturers fault.
Google it, there's been loads. I mentioned it once or twice as a concern when I was looking at getting them. I now have one (from O2 through a contract upgrade that I haggled for til I got a good deal) and while I'm still worried, it's not quite as fragile as I'd feared. So far, at least...

Vodafone.
How would a blank micro SIM work? I'd have to copy the data from my current SIM card? Is that even possible?
I've just tweeted Vodafone asking if I can get a duplicate SIM card in micro SIM format. I might order myself a cheap SIM cutter if Vodafone send me a normal sized SIM card.
YESSS
My bumper order from November 13th has finally shipped!
It's a miracle!
Thanks. Got one on Amazon lined up, I have Prime so I could have the cutter by Saturday.Link to video and template, but if you're worried I'd just say grab a cutter, you can pick one up for about £2.50 on ebay.
Ah cool. No Vodafone store where I am so I think either I ask Vodafone to send me a new SIM card or I cut my current one down to size.No it is just a blank SIM, you call up Vodafone and give them the number on it and they transfer your number to it (then your old SIM will no longer function). Nowadays, I don't think there is much data stored on the SIM. If you mean contacts, just sync them to google or something and sync back on the new phone.
