***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

The quote is now 6-7 weeks.

People who ordered 16GB on 4th seem to be getting their orders (albeit in a messed up order!!). I haven't heard anyone ordering yesterday say they are getting delivery yet (including me) and yesterday the estimate was 5-6 weeks. The estimate on the 4th was between 1-2 days for early orders and 1-2 weeks for later orders iirc.

Read into that what you will, but be prepared to wait the full time imo, to avoid disappointment :)

I guess your right, thanks for the heads up guys.

That seems a poor reason to me, just becuase it isn't listed as a common fault doesn't mean it can't happen.
My thoughts exactly. Best course of action? I'm loathe to call LG myself, CPW should do that on my behalf, plus, if LG decide to replace it, no doubt I'll be without a phone for a while.

So, Tweet them or go straight to head office?

It's your call, but if you want to use your phone ASAP, just take it to any of those high street shops that unlock phones and sell crappy cases and they will do it in seconds using the same tool, for probably the same price.

None of those kind of shops round here. We've shops of a higher class, don't you know?! ;) There's a mobile stall at the market on Saturday but that's no quicker than ordering a cutter online for delivery on Saturday.

Might look at the vid linked earlier and see if I dare cut my SIM card. :)

Probably a completely dumbass question but if I ordered a 16gb tomorrow whats been everyones experience of deliverys?
Well my experience is probably quite unique but I ordered mine late Tuesday evening and it was here today. Wasn't expecting it because I received no despatch email with tracking details and my Google Wallet/Store pages tell me my order is pending. Still!!

Well I was gutted to have missed out on the first batch on N4s as I managed to get a N10 but the 4 was out of stock by the time I came to order. Roll on to yesterday and they (8Gb) come back online saying 4-5 weeks. Ordered one and weirdly it turned up today! Anyone else experienced this? A friend also ordered a 16Gb on the same day but still no sign of his. I'm pretty impressed with it. I'm not sure but I think I prefer the screen on my One X. It seems very fast though.

So you ordered one yesterday, the 5th and got it today, the 6th. I think Google CS needs to read this thread. Their delivery company are doing them no favours at all.

rang up Google, spoke to friendly polite bloke.

said order confirmed 1706 tuesday, but email says 5-6 weeks.

order was for both 8 and 16.

rang to find out if removing one would make it quicker.

apparently not.

asked how come 1706 order is pending, but much more recent orders delivered.

he reckons cos my credit card company delayed it.

he reckons will be within two weeks.

contract up end of Jan, so will try to chill for couple of weeks. check deals on S3 and note 2, status of order then decide what to do.

Just rang up Orange as i'm eligible as of today to upgrade, no plans to stock it at all...reason was it "doesn't hold enough of a value to be a worthy upgrade"

Anyone got any suggestions for a cheap sim only contract that is mostly used for texts/data, not a big user of minutes.

Also, I signed up to the notification pre-initial release, but never received one when it first launched. I may be jumping to conclusions but that may be some good news for stock levels for this wave.

I'm going to try and get as many as I can to dish out to people here mainly. I already got mine at cut-price so. Did anyone have any luck before adding multiples to their basket?

Would be very interested in this!

Dunno, who you are with but I think all the 4 main networks let you walk into a shop and get a blank micro-sim (stock permitting). I knowEE/T-mob/Orange definitely do and so do O2.

If you want to go the cutting route, al those phone unlocking shops/market stalls will have a proper SIM cutter (looks like a stapler) and they will chop it for £1-£2 quid.

rp2000

Yup all i did was walk into o2 about 5pm... say i have a new phone and need a micro sim. They grabbed one, asked me for my number, entered it into the computer. I got a text message with a code, gave it to the sales girls and got a text saying its accepted and will be swapped over within 24hours. Couple of hours later it all sorted. Nice and easy.

Shipping times or not, the fact is people who ordered later are getting theirs first. Cant you see the reason people are upset.

Sorry but I can't.
When you order your not ordering on a first come first serve basis you realize this right?

Also everyone who clicked on "buy" had the following "estimated to ship within 4 to 5 weeks".

It's only when they take money from account and send you email with estimated shipping date that you can get a rough idea.

I've yet to get any further email other than the one I got after purchasing.

So chill out and don't complain unless it tales longer than 4 to 5 weeks ;-)

Hmm thanks.

Everyone here that paid by credit card - is your order still pending?

Paid by debit card here (gf too) both ordered at 17:08 so its something else going on here :o.

Sorry but I can't.

Most people who ordered before had 3-5 days or 1-2 weeks, so someone with 4-5 weeks getting it first could lead to someone getting upset I guess, personally I'm fine waiting but it doesn't seems at all logically.

I've just checked and yeah, pretty much. I placed the order on the 4th, updated my incorrect account details on the 5th and then it arrived today. I was pretty surprised.

Bit misleading, you actually ordered it on 4th. I imagine your order was already processing before you changed your details.

No big deal, but some people in this thread who ordered on the 4th are likely to have a hernia if they find out people who ordered a day later have got theirs delivered!!

6-7 weeks is this the absolute worst case scenario

is it worth getting it now or just wait till january ?
If you want it just order it and cancel if it does not arrive in a timely fashion. My feeling from this thread is cancellation is a lot easier than ordering this thing :D

Not at all.

It started with 3-5 days, went to 1-2 weeks then WENT OUT OF STOCK. Later they were selling them again with 4-5 weeks.

I ordered when the estimate was 1-2 weeks and I must admit this situation does grind my gears. Someone said earlier it offends the British sensibility of fair play and queueing and I agree with that sentiment.

While it is of course speculation at this point whether my order will be fulfilled within their estimate it cannot be disputed that the larger the number of 5-6 week (/edit meant to say 4-5 week) orders shipped before lower estimate orders the lower the likelihood 3-5 days or 1-2 week orders meeting their estimate.

I don't think anyone with 5-6 weeks has shipped? I think it is 4-5 week people. Minor difference, but I suspect significant.

Maybe if people must insist on banging on about orders shipping before them etc, everyone just pastes what the delivery estimate from the order confirmation e-mail said (and maybe the time of the mail?).

Mine said 3 to 5 days, so if someone who was told 4 to 5 weeks is getting theirs before me then, yeah, it's not right.
