***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Cheers guys, yeah i just did some research and seems its just something with camera. As long as its not a fault/going to develop into a fault i dont mind :)

Hmmm, do i buy that bugatti slip pouch or just keep the phone bare like my other phones. Kinda worrying with the glass back when putting it down on surfaces lol.

No rattle on my galaxy spica, htc desire or one s. I thought the rattle was something to do with the ear piece?

There are still major problems with the battery optimisation, kernel wake locks etc. But once they are sorted the nexus 4 will be one of the best phones for battery life, better than the one s and gs 3.

Currently if you tweak some things and turn of some stuff it is very good still.

Ok, I've had the phone for a few weeks now and I gotta say....the battery sucks.
I'm at 20% to dead by 6pm. That is with about 20minutes of gaming on my morning commute, checking facebook, twitter, using google maps, taking the odd photo. I didn't even listen to any music today and it's at 10% right now at 4pm.

What's draining the battery according to your battery stats?

Says the screen has used 52% of the battery with 1h 30min of time on.
next thing is the OS at 11%
edit: it doesn't tell me how much battery my game used up

Install better battery stats and post the process, kernel and partial wakelock screens.

The stock battery graph/chart for 4.2 on the N4 looks like it has problems, not accurate at all i.e. the phone supposedly isn't awake when the screen is turned on

Basically things/tasks/activities that keeps the phone "awake" when it should be "sleeping" i.e. when the screen is off so gmail activities etc.

Good explanation of it here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Wakelocks

One of the major drainers for the nexus 4 is the "msm_hsci_host" wakelock, something to do with the S4 pro chipset and drivers, whole thread on it here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1999368

I posted a tip taken from that thread here ages ago in order to reduce the drain, but can't remember what it was or where the post is :p

As for a better battery status app, install better battery stats, can get it for free at the bottom of this post:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15869868&postcount=1

And once you hit 15% or lower battery level, post the post the process, kernel and partial wakelock screens (only need the top section, not every single activity etc.)

IIRC, surface flinger and power service manager are using more battery than what they should as well.
