***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Not a problem here with Google Now. Have you turned off the broadcasts? They drain the battery.

With Google Now off the total time that Android OS keeps the phone awake for me is about 1 hour in 18 or so.

With it on Android OS keep awake stretches out to 3-5 hours.

Ya I don't really use it much, Have broadcasts off but I am just going to turn it off altogether, Light-flow isn't help much as well tbh. My S3 did last much longer, hoping future updates will make it better.

all these replies about getting their phones make me want to go to CPW :(

Don't do it, I genuinely can't understand why anyone would. It's a very nice phone, but it's not so special that's worth £100+ more than the Google price. Either wait for it to come into stock, or give up on it completely and wait for the next new thing to come out; don't pay more than you have to.

Seems Google are finally sorting out all these order problems though, got an email earlier saying they've refunded me £9.99 for the shipping charge! Fairly happy with that considering I hadn't even asked them for it.

It does initially I think as its trying to figure out your routine....It odes settle down.

I don't really have a need to know the traffic in my 10 minute drive to work, I've dozens of things that tell me the weather, and if I need to know if a flights late I'll google it.

Turned it off.

I just wanted to comment on the battery life of this phone as mine was last charged on Sunday night and it still has 20% battery left this morning.

However mine is in a unique position as it is not being used normally, nor does it have a SIM card in it (because the screen is smashed).

But it has wi-fi constantly enabled and has been pushing emails and doing Facebook updates all week. The notification light has also been blinking non stop since Monday when it dive bombed onto the floor and smashed.

I cant help feeling that there might be optimisation issues with the mobile networks. Indeed, on previous phones on the market, bad network optimisation has crippled battery life. I know the screen sucks the life out of the battery too, but even though I have had periods where I barely used my N4 over a couple of days, it still always needed charging after around 36hrs. Yet here I am 5 days later, still with 20% battery. I should also point out that every notification has been audible too as I have had the volume on full but I turned it to silent this morning as it woke me up a few times last night :p

I would be interested to see what battery life people get from their N4 under similar circumstances but with a SIM installed (IE just leave it on your bedside table with wi-fi enabled and see how long the battery takes to die).

Cheers

Buff

If anyone is looking to disable the "Cell Broadcast" option and can't find it, it's in settings - more.

So far that pesky wakelock appears to have dropped substantially, but thats after only an hour so we'll see. I also turned off NFC as I've never used it in 10 months of having the option to do so.

Got my phone and del refund yesterday, 1st impressions nice bit of kit no rattles or screen issues, even black is better than I'd worried, I ran screen tester.

It's fast way faster than my Note or sons S3 and feels good in the hand, I intend to get a Poetic hard back case and no screen protector.

All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase xmas is back on track.

Now I'm waiting for the 2 San Fran 2's that orange should've got to me wed pre 12, no joke!!!!! they just came now as I type, ace!!! 2 prezzies and a couple of pairs of earphones 1 to keep and 1 to eb.

Interesting point for Kona, on display tester the viewing angle is much better viewed from the top or bottom side rather than from the long sides, the screen exceeds my expectation tbh as does the fone, for this to get demoted to number 2 fone in under 6 months as was intended the competition will have to be on their toes.
