hmmm there's no free download link. Definitely don't want to have to buy that app. Isn't it safe to assume that wakelock is the problem and just disable it?

You can't just disable that wakelock, there are a number of things that could relate to that wakelock, only google can fix/improve it (or possibly custom ROs, kernels etc.), the best you can do is just disable a ton of stuff in order to decrease it, skim through the thread related to that wakelock in order to find out what you can do in order to reduce the drain.
 
My nexus 4 came today. Very impressed so far. Moving from an Xperia S, it's much much faster. Everything is so smooth.

Build quality seems great too. Just need to wait for my screen protector.
 
You're kinda ruining it with a screen protector as the screen is liquid smooth! Try it with a cheap screen protector and see the difference, it was night and day for me.

Hmm... I'm just worried about ruining the screen. I ordered a zagg invisible shield, hoping it won't be too noticeable..

The zaggs are probably the most noticeable u can get mate. Looks like orange peel on your screen :/

I have never put a screen protector on any of my phones and have never had a problem.

I didn't use one on my iPhone and then one day it had a massive scratch...

Will have to see about returning the zagg. Any case you'd recommend instead?

Not really qualified to answer as i dont use cases or screen protectors, maybe you will find that protector fine hopefully someone here that uses them can give their impressions.

Bunch of people seem to have ordered the niklin case, i dont want to cover up the back of my phone personally.

I do quite like the look of the pouch someone linked a couple pages back though.

Miles better than my DesireHD, easily managing 2 days between charges. But as ever it all depends on your usage pattern, I can do 1-2 hours of calls 3-50 minutes of games the same of wifi and around 30 minutes of cellular data, and still get 2 days+ out of the battery (40% left).

I should add I turn off the cellular data, wifi, and bluetooth radio's off when not in use.

I used my N4 without a case for a day and got a scratch on it. Got some cheap protectors but not using them because they don't cover the whole screen (curved glass). It takes away the nice feel, cause of the raised edge of the protector. Had Best skin on my device for a few days. Better than the cheap protectors, covers closer to the edge. But still has a orange peel affect but not as bad as the Zagg protectors.

After a week I took off the front protector. Now just using my slip case and Best skin protector on the back.

I really don't know how people scratch their screens. I used an iPhone 3G for 2 years and then an iPhone 4 for 2 years without screen protectors and never got a single scratch, both only had minor hairline scratches on the back
 
So had the phone for most of today, here are my thoughts which will be mostly compared to the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Nexus.

Screen:

Its simply amazing, really happy with this screen. Found the blacks to be really nice, my viewing angles were a lot better then some I saw. Its very sharp and colours are really accurate.

Design:

Really like the design of this phone, you can really see how much work has been put into this thing. Love how the front glass curves in. Soft touch sides are really nice. Back is very good too, elegant. The back being made out of glass is my only worry, but I do have a Best skins ever coming to cover at least that.

Sounds:

It really is good, phone calls are so loud and clear, music sounded awesome. Loud speakers are very good, clear was a bit too much at the loud end.

Performance:

Snappy, smooth and everything just flows so quickly. Never slowed down 1 bit at all not matter how hard I tired

Badbits:

So far the notifications are very very quiet, keep missing things and its even set to max volume which is very annoying.
Battery life I will need to test it out tomorrow. For now I put the latest PA and I am really loving this thing. Didn't get too much time with the camera either. Overall it is a really good phone and I'm very pleased with everything.

my order went through 17.06 04.12.12

for 8gb and 16gb

for some reason given 4-5 week delivery.

chased up and told it would be January.

pending for while

changed other day to pre-order.


checked hour ago - still pre-order.


......just received shipping email and order now showing delivered!!

So recently Google Now is really draining the battery out, I could easily get 1 day+ but since I have turned Now on it's hardly 16-18 Hrs, anyone else having this issue ?
 
How do you get the best out of this camera. On the note 1 i didnt mess around with any settings and the photos would come out really nice and sharp. this camera is not as good imo. What setting are people using or is this just the way it is
