***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

anyone know if google accepts warranty returns if the person on the receipt is different?
im currently looking at N4s that are for sale privately

WTF... are your tables coated in oil or something? :p

There are a few videos on YouTube showing the phone sliding of a desk surface and also one of the top YouTube reviewers showed it too (can't remember which one it was though)

It really does seem like the phone has a mind of its own  :p

Didn't turn up booo
Luckily my sister is off work I believe Monday so will be around for it I hope.

Those of you with sim only deals what do you do about phone insurance? I cancelled my Orange 'care' thing a while back as I have phone insurance via my bank. Just wondering what you all do if something happens to it.

if thats the case will the play store accept if i return the phone if it developed a defect within the warranty period ? or that goes straight to LG ?

I believe the warranty is with the phone not the owner so LG should know when it was sold.

I'm 99% sure on this and that the warranty will be valid.

Someone else may confirm this.

So been using the phone for a few days now, its great and all buy boy does this thing over heat. Its getting very annoying with watching media back, I tend to watch 720p anime and I was so excited to finally have a nice screen, but it doesn't run to smoothly and after 10mins it was just so useless (Around 5fps). Anyone know of a decent kernel I could use ot reduce this or if any undervolting is ready yet. Also what is a good video player for the Nexus 4, always used BS player on my S2 and it was awesome.

Thats quite worrying for me as I plan to watch anime series as well. When you said after 10mins of playback was that after a couple of complete episodes or the first run ?

Hmm, that would be an instant no to the nexus 4 for me too! Is everyone else having the same problem with 720P/1080P MKV's?

BS player is the best, MX is very good too but I have found that the quality doesn't seem to be as good as BS.

Nope, I can't remember that happening when I was watching 45 minute high profile 720p TV episodes (BS Player).

Some reviews did state that they got very hot from memory. I was waiting for this... think the s3 is my port of call now.

I think some players don't take advantage of Android 4.2.1/the Nexus 4 properly. I watched one 45 minute 720p episode of Dexter and got through 50% of battery with the phone becoming very hot. I think that was MX Player... but can't remember.

Really just want my phone now, i've never had to wait this long for something to be delivered.

looks like its hit n miss with heat when playing video files

i really hope its just software optimization though as that would really suck if it overheated with just 10mins of video time

First run, going to test things out again. At the time my PA rom was acting very dodge so I have now reflashed. Also downloading MX player.

Finally anyone tried out any kernels there seems to be some really good ones, Matr1x and Franco seems to be the best, and reading some of the XDA thread seems to show there both good anyone here have any experience with them.
