There should be settings within the individual applications. So if you go into email for example, select settings and then select your account, from within here you will have notification settings uncluding the option to switch on vibrate.

Edit - Sorry, ignore me. I thought it was just normal vibration, rather than types of vibration.

Sorry I should have explained. I just want the vibrations to last longer so I can hear them when phone is on my work desk. SMS has this option and it works great but the other essential apps don't

Picked up my Nexus 4 yesterday (despite 50 mile round trip). One problem I've had with it so far is connecting to my home WiFi when the SSID is hidden.

Is this a common fault?

Got my phone last night and played around with it for a few hours, really liking it so far. Sadly my SIM hasn't arrived from giffgaff yet, so I can't start transferring my number yet (going to call O2 about the PAC code tonight). Guessing it'll be another week or so before I finally get the phone up and running :p

I ordered the Google Nexus 4 today. I was looking for a middle of the road smart phone to replace the ageing Blackberry Curve i've been using the past 4 years.

I was torn between this and the Nokia Lumia 920. This is significantly cheaper and i've been curious about Andoid for a while now, yet to try it out. Hopefully I have made the right choice.

Can anyone recommend a case for the phone? Ive heard horror stories of smashed screens with these large screen smart phones. I do a lot of activities and would like something that offers more than just scratch proof protection! I really like the Otterbox range but they don't do a Nexus 4 case (yet).

The only issue I have with this phone is the speaker placement. Its on the bottom and I always keep my phone screen up which has the negative affect of muting the speaker volume some what :-/

:P Batteries these days don't suffer from memory effect. I guessed you were wondering if it should be left overnight like we had to do with older phones. If it has some charge in it, you can use it.

No longer do we have to sit next to a wall charger playing in the menus wondering if it's bad to play with the phone while it's charging and annoying everyone with polymorphic ring tones. :D

Also don't let your battery run out on purpose, charge it whenever you can as always draining the battery right to the bottom isn't healthy!

Oh, really? I deliberately let mine drain at the weekend thinking it would help calibrate the battery meter. Oops :)

I'm enjoying the nexus 4 so far but miss the feature that my note 2 has of pulling down from top of screen to turn on/off wifi, bluetooth etc

You seem to have to press a few items to get to the wifi option from pull down menu and I don't like the power buttons on the screen has a widget.

Is there a rom with the same system from the pull down has the sammy?
