***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I purchased my nexus 4 on a impulse buy and it just arrived today. I currently have a gs3 but am experiencing some issues with it (freezing on me, slowing down). Do you think I should either get it replaced or sell it and use the nexus. I don't want to open the nexus as I would want to sell it unopened.

It feels good slight texture to it and smooth better than the glass feeling. very easy to apply its a dry install. Precision cut so it lines up well. Easier to apply than a screen protector for example. Can be re used if you take it off again .

Awesome, I have a Best screens ever on the back but it got 1 single tiny hair in there which has been ****ing me off xD. Worth a shoot.

Thats what people are saying on XDA.
Im still using the previous version. Whats changed??
Change log link?

Couldn't find a changelog, but I flashed the stock google kernel, and now it looks like my colours are even very washed out. Whether or not the latest paranoid android dimmed my screen, the colours are certainly so much better on the latest build.

That's what happens when people flash ROMs blindly.

PA implements new gamma settings (among other display properties calibration), which are a mix of Google's preset and LG's one, tweaked to achieve gamma close to 2.2 on most devices. They're great, probably the best preset out there, and they do the job without the need for a custom kernel or external app running in the background.

They do, however, conflict with apps that can partially control gamma, like faux clock or trickster mod.

The difference between stock display and a calibrated one on nexus 4 is staggering.

Are there any photos/videos comparisons of a stock display to a calibrated display?

I don't see how that would work. You have no guarantee that the camera will capture the true colours of the device, nor can you ensure proper colour reproduction on most monitors. Not to mention that every nexus screen is slightly different so the results will vary (although you can't get much worse than stock gamma on nexus loll). Best to try it out yourself.

I'm sure somebody posted a comparison on xda, though. Search in the PA thread, display colours one and faux's kernel thread.

When I set the phone up, I set apps to automatically update. Anyone know how I can change it from update apps over wifi and data to just wifi.

Currently only get a measly 500MB limit with Vodafone, so need to keep all updates to over wifi.

Thanks

What pushed you towards the Nexus 4? I'm looking to move from expired contract with 02, ordered a giff gaff sim..

Now looking at the Nexus for as it's cheaper than getting a upgrade from 02

I was edging towards a SG3, as I could get one on a contract with redemption & quidco for less than going Nexus 4 and giff gaff but the size of the SG3 put me off.

Off topic guys but where's the best place to sell my iPhone 4S 32Gb? It needs to go. Envirophone offering £240 which is kind of think is low

eBay, Gumtree, AV Forums.
I don't know what the going rate for a 4S is but I always just send my phones off to the recycler offering the most cash as it's quick and easy with no hassle.

Only thing with eBay is they will take 10%, and PayPal will take 6%. So remember to take off 16% of what you think you might get!

I'm looking to sell my iPhone 4 16GB, so going to try a CEX and cash converter shops to see how they compare to the online recycle websites...

Try this website to see how much the going rate is mobilevaluer.com/
