***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Figured it would be worth a go, i didnt know :(

Hopefully Kies has stored the stuff in an easy to read unencrypted format somewhere. Just find the files you need and take them. I'm guessing you want things like texts, pictures and videos? Contacts should have been backed up to Google's servers already.

Can you update/change the kernal without affecting the installed custom rom?

dont really use my phone that much through the work as i am at work and use the lappy in the house but to get almost 3 days worth out this phone (i have 6% left) is amazing from what i was getting on stock rom/kernel.

From Stock kernal?

From Stock kernal?

sorry, ive read what i wrote previously and its not written the best. What I meant is that I am amazed in the difference of the battery life between stock and the xylon rom i am currently running. It runs the faux 123 kernel which I have read a lot of good things about. was previously using the franco kernel.

Just got my Nexus, cut my sim and popped it in. It hasn't auto connected me to Three so I have gone into the settings and chose "3 UK" and it says registering and it finishes but then does nothing?

Anyone had any problems with three?

I have taken it back out and put it back in my old phone and its working fine so the sim is ok.

how much screen on time did you get?

How do i go about changing my kernal to faux 123 kernel without screwing my phone up and not affecting anything else?

Just download the kernel you want and flash it in recovery. And just raise and repeat, until you find a kernel you like.

If you ever flash the franco kernel you need reflash a stock/ reset kernel before flashing a new kernel.

I'm currently using the new faux beta 6 kernel before that I was using the motley 32 kernel. Both very smooth and good on battery. The most popular seems to be Franco but I'm not a fan, seems to be the Apple of the kernel world.

Just received my shipping e-mail from Google after ordering on Tuesday. Must now decide on which screen protector to get and order a sim.

What you are getting is pretty much normal even with the stock N4 after disabling the Google app that drains the battery.

My last screen grab of battery usage was at 11% after 2 days 21 hours with over 3 hours screen time.

I'm on CM10.1 now. Not that I've noticed much difference other than the Android OS eating up the battery earlier looking like it's back to normal.

Franco's the best kernel, I guess? Ah.
