***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I'm on CM10.1 now. Not that I've noticed much difference other than the Android OS eating up the battery earlier looking like it's back to normal.

Franco's the best kernel, I guess? Ah.

There's no "best" kernel. They evolve quite rapidly and everyone uses their phone in a different way, so find one that suits your needs best.

As for CM10.1, I think there are more "interesting" ROMs out for Nexus 4, but each to their own. :)

says 1 hour 10 mins. that cannot be right, it says 9%.

9% of 65 hours is just short of 6 hours, or am i barking up the wrong tree here?

any battery monitors anyone can suggest?

The %age is how much of the battery that particular thing used, not a %age it was used during "uptime".

So the screen *apparently* used 9% of your battery :).

So mine arrived this afternoon. Just getting round to playing with it now. All unlocked and recovery flashed. Now to flash a few roms and see what I like.
So nice to be back on android again.

I think i have a problem.....
Im missing space which is unaccounted for......16Gb Nexus

I know I was keeping out of this thread before i get jumped on but.

Do you have any backups on your phone? if so it won't show in there.

Ive done a few nandroid backups using **** Nexus Root Tool Kit but i always copy those over from the phone to my PC and then delete the files on my phone.

Unfortunately it is a software issue some have experienced. The suggested fix appears to be to erase the phone and restore the stock image using fastboot, then starting all over again.

EDIT: Ignore that, I thought that the phone was reporting the wrong amount of available storage. I'd try using a file manager and seeing if any cache or hidden files are taking up extra space. Beyond that, backup apps, wipe everything (including /sdcard) and reflashing would be the tidiest solution.

Heres what i cant understand.

In windows explorer, for the phone under "Internal Storage" it is showing as per what the Settings -> Storage screen is showing on the phone.

BUT, when i go into "Internal Storage", select all and the look at the properties it is only showing a size of 430Mb.

So somewhere, either hidden or misplaced or whatever, i have files which i cant see in windows explorer......

Using Astro File Manager on the phone, it is showing what the phone and windows is showing also. It is showing 8.58Gb used out of 13.23Gb but the largest file i can see sorted by size is 114Mb.......

These files, whatever they are, must be hidden somewhere...

Guys is there a thread on here where people show off their customisations with details what theyve done? I keep seeing nice screenshots but havent got a clue if its just a simple change or theyve done loads of tweaks to get it like that - be nice to get somewhere without too much fiddle

Slightly techy question: I'm between the Note II and Nexus 4 (posted in here before) but the final question is the frequency bands between variants.

I want the phone to allow me the largest choice in SIM/network provider as possible (heavy traveler), so it's an important question.

I can only find Note II variants information:

Does the Nexus 4 come with this many variants with such a massive exclusion in frequencies? I hope not!

There is only one radio variant of the Nexus 4 AFAIK:

GSM/EDGE/GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
3G UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz)
