***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Well rang up twice (one to troubleshoot, once to replace) regarding my random freezes/battery drop issues. They agreed qckly to get me a brand new one so credit where credit is due re. customer service. Can't default them.

Also, if what they say is true, my RMA is handled by a individual and not through a system which is normal better ime.

I haven't on my phone, but have on others.

The .bat just runs a bunch of fastboot commands to save you doing them individually.

Guys I have a nexus 4 to go back to google but im a little concerned, the serial number they have emailed me and what is on my box doesn't match the serial number when I check the phone, settings/about phone/status.
The serial number on the phone is very different to that on the box? is this the case for anyone else? the imei is correct which is strange.

Tried to take a picture of my Galaxy Nexus to put it on EBay but the camera on the Nexus 4 is rubbish. Also 3G reception is not as good as on the Galaxy Nexus. Am a bit disappointed with the Nexus 4, hopefully future updates will make it better.

My Galaxy Nexus is now downloading the 4.2.2 update.

Hi, not sure if it helps but I can confirm the serial number on my box is also different to the one that shows within settings/about phone/status, it doesn't even look to be in the same format. The imei numbers match as with yours.

So you loose everything when you apply a OTA update?
Meaning my nandroid backups will be useless and i'll have to reinstall custom rom and apps again?

My phone is working fine so i rather just stay with 4.2.1

Are you still on PA?

If so do a back up of your settings in hybrid settings, grab the zip file either by downloading it from the goomanager app or the thread on XDA.

wipe cache & dalvik cache & install the zip & gapps zip, Then once loaded restore the backup from hybrid.

No apps should be affected doing it this way only the PA hybrid settings which can be reapplied from the hybrid settings area where you made the backup.

Very easy to do & takes a few minutes no messing around installing apps & other stuff again.

I did not lose apps or data, I just used fastboot to re flash a custom recovery then loaded suuser from zip and had root again. I have used the same way on all updates for the galaxy nexus, dont know how to do it with the N4 as i used nexus toolkit and that dose not have the 4.2.2 profile.

Made a back up of my PA settings but no idea where the backup file is.
Downloaded the latest PA ROM and GAPPS from GooManager.

Do i need to move the saved PA settings file to anywhere or just leave it where it is?
Likewise with the Goomanager update files?

Now im just waiting for the 4.2.2 OTA update....

Nah just keep everything where it is.

Load recovery, Wipe Cache & Dalvik cache.

Navigate to the goomanager folder in recovery install both of the updates should be labelled 13th FEB & gapps.

Restart phone.

Go back to hybrid properties > tools > restore preferences.

It'll ask to reboot & everything should be back how it was before you did the update.

The newest update on goomanager is 4.2.2. You don't have to wait for Google's OTA update with PA you follow the normal paths.
