***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

So after updating PA to 4.2.2 (13th Feb version)
This defo not gonner wipe my apps and all their settings and all my settings?

I assume wiping the cache would wipe Google Maps cached maps and possibly Google Music "pinned" files too?

Everything will remain, Even your Maps & Music, They will only go if you select to wipe the cache from within the apps section in settings when your actually in android.

It appears a new build has been put up 14th FEB I would grab that first before going ahead with doing it.

Do you have a screen protector covering the sensors by any chance?

I don't know about Fairly sure the answer is no, but I don't, just a bumper. And I don't think a screen protector would cause this as it's waking the phone from screen off, after pressing the power button, not causing the screen to go blank when the screen was already on, which is what the sensor should do...

suspend_backoff is related to wifi iirc so turn your wifi of for your next charge and just use the mobile data connection and see how things go.

One guy in the one s thread has a similar problem and said the reason it takes so much is because his wifi signal is iffy/weak.

Think you might actually be onto something, but even with the WiFi off sometimes the wakelock just doesn't go away, if you get what I mean. As for the WiFi itself I'm directly above an access point! Full strength all the time. Just seems a little absurd.

Gonna put 4.2.2 on now, although I don't think it'll improve anything.

So you loose everything when you apply a OTA update?
Meaning my nandroid backups will be useless and i'll have to reinstall custom rom and apps again?

My phone is working fine so i rather just stay with 4.2.1

Your not going to get the OTA update your on PA ROM. Plus why do you what the OTA, PA has released 4.2.2

The 4.2.2 update loses root on the Galaxy Nexus so it might do on the N4.

Install it via ClockworkMod recovery and it will give you the option to restore root access after the flash.

You lose nothing.

If that's literal (being above the access point) that's one of the worst places to be. The signal comes out like a big donut so it's highly possible you're having to deal with both extremely high (when you move into the "donut") and extremely low signals (when you're in the centre). Just a thought :)

Well, about 30 feet or so away; leave the office, down the stairs and it's their on the ceiling.

Turned the wifi off for now as the Gooim servers seem to be down? If that can determine it then I've no clue what I'll be doing next.

whats the easiest way of removing the voice typing mic and never EVER seeing it again? I keep disabling it and it keeps coming back and its right where I think the comma should be.

I've used a couple of keyboards too and it KEEPS HAPPENING AAAAAAARGH!

Cheers mate. Will do it later today after work.

It was just a thought :p

Have you tried backing up your stuff & doing a factory reset to see that sorts it out? If it doesn't I'd recommend an RMA cause it shouldn't be doing that at all.

No worries Photoshop! :)

I rooted and unlocked my phone using the nexus root toolkit. if I download the 4.2.2 update will I have to root and unlock the phone again using the root toolkit?

You may have to root again, depending on your setup, but you will always remain unlocked, until you decide to lock it up yourself.

I've just disabled, from inside the keyboard when using it I'll let you know if it comes back. I had no idea you could get rid of it I've been annoyed with how long it took to put a comma in.
I'm on the stock keyboard

The Auto Brightness setting now makes my phone brighter than before and my text doesn't look as crisp as it did before. Not liking the text :/

So when should I expect 4.2.2? My phone currently just says its up to date, not that I'm in any mad rush, just that I'm new to android and wondered how it normally works, does everyone not get it at the same time?

What's the ship time on these now, just been told I've one on the way by the missus since I've mentioned I needed an upgrade. Was ordered 2 days ago.
