***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Past due that i got a case for this, tempted to go for the "put all your eggs in one basket" approach and get a wallet style case, but i'm not too keen on the shiny leather stuff. Pretty much the only one i've found without is the BoxWave Book case, which is tempting at £20...

I have the Ringke fusion, official Google bumper and the latest revision poetic borderline bumper (in blue).

My vote goes with the poetic bumper, while the official bumper looks nice it adds too much width to the phone in my opinion and doesn't feel great in the hand. The Fusion I really don't like, the clear back gets the inevitable dust underneath it and it scratches easily.
The Poetic fits just as well as the official bumper but doesn't add as much bulk and just feels better in the hand, everybody varies though :)

After a read around I bought the Poetic case. Seems that many agree with your reasoning :)

Quite liking paranoid android but I have it set to status bar and no menu buttons, is there a way to turn off the halo notifier

Having some problems with slow wi-fi connections, despite the wi-fi being excellent on other devices, I've read that this is a fairly common problem and looking a few posts above, seems I'm not the only one here to have it.

Any solutions?

not sure how to do this, i did a quick google. can you give me a quick description of how to do this please?

flash the latest file from google's support website

if your on the latest that means your radio firmware has been updated already.

im sure there is a google nexus wi-fi fixer app on the store and that basically forces the phone to fix itself, because i have wi-fi issues on my nexus 7 but not on my nexus 4

I had this with my old router (D-Link), it was around 100kb and it only work some of the times, like small burst.

My new router gives me 41mb compared to my laptop (right next to each other) it is getting 30mb so its amazing now.

So, it's been a while since i owned an android phone. If I want to flash a fix for the wifi in recovery mode, does the phone need rooting first or not?

Unlocking the boot loader will wipe the phone though.

Sorry for not mentioning that, quite an important thing that really shouldn't be missed out!

To be honest I'm not entirely convinced that the majority of these fixes work properly. Most of them introduce new problems in some form, our just don't work properly. I'd wait until Google release 4.3 in order to clear up these issues, shouldn't be too long from now.

I was just charging my nexus for a bit and when I unplugged it the battery had depleted and it just turned off. I plugged it back in and there was a red led so I held down the power button and then it started blinking... The phone wouldn't turn on whatsoever. I left it on charge for 20 minutes and then it turned on, any idea what that was about? Going to do a full factory reset just to rule out anything with my rom messing things up.

Anyone else finding that the Phone won't charge to 100%?? mine seems to get to about 99% and stops, the other day it only got to 92% and stopped!! this is with a full 9 hour charge over night using the supplied charger!!.

Plus sometimes the charger isn't recognised properly! it shows as a USB charger not an AC charger!!, when this happens I unplug and plug and it then says AC charger!.

would this be the phone or charger?

I've read about the above two issues before.

I believe it's software related.

I have had the first one but unplugging and plugging back in is fine.

Hopefully when 4.3 come out in the next couple of weeks it will solve this issue then!! :)

I had a problem on 4.2.1 with the H/3G not coming back on when dis-connecting from Wi-Fi, but 4.2.2 solved this issue!!

Still wish I could get more than 2.5 hours screen time out of this thing

I'd recommend getting a battery pack - the Anker ones are quite good and not too big. I got the 8400mah one which will charge the phone 4 times fully, took a lot of stress out of the battery side of things

rickjames, are you running the stock software? Might be worth using BBS to see what is going on? Or at least some information from the battery section in the settings?
