***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

probably worth noting undervolting isn't the only thing i have done to tweak my phone.

custom rom, franco kernel, undervolting and the only apps which get stuff pushed to them are email and whatsapp everything else is manually synced.

Undervolting will only save you a bit of battery at best

150 doesn't seem a trivial amount, my initial impressions is this has made a huge impact to the battery life. The battery seems far more capable now, however my rider is I have Franco the 150 change and greenify. I'm going to London tomorrow and usually struggle with the battery when i do so that should give a good idea on how much these changes have made

Its the screen, following by poor recpition and mobile data that uses the most battery.

As long as there's no apps preventing your device from sleeping, the CPU doesn't use much power in standby as its in power collapse mode.

Yeah!, I've noticed recently Vodaclone seem to have fudged the H reception round where I work!, I'm lucky if I get a 3G signal, most of the time it's sitting at E and even G.

The phone will get warm and the battery drops!

But when I'm back home, I get a full H signal, and the battery hardly moves in the same time period!

I must be very unlucky to have the hissing issue in the replacements as well!
I can't believe no one else is having that much of a fuss about this in here.

How did you find it unstable - did it crash?

kept crashing and restarting only to crash again.

the lower your battery power is the power to the cpu gets less i think, therefore when mine hit less than 15% battery the power to the cpu was not enough.

back on 125mv which was stable before so should be now.

will leave it on there for now and see if i get any more constant crashes when the battery goes low.

Wondering if anyone can help. A few days ago I rooted and unlocked the bootloader on my new Nexus 4 and since everything has been working fine. Reading above about undervolting has made me aware I can't do that with the stock kernel. So I downloaded the franco kernel r161 and tried installing, however following an installation guide about going into fastboot then recovery, when I attempt to go into recovery I get an android on its back with a red triangle exclamation mark.

This is my first android device so have not got a lot of experience with any of this, I've tried googling but haven't really found a simple explanation or solution, any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced <£20 bicycle mount holder for my N4 - anyone got one they would recommend?

It's taken me over a month but finally found one I liked the look ofat a price that was reasonable

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=370806494025

Note there is no access to the power button in the mount so you need a rooted phone and then get touch control for the nexus 4 which allows you to turn the device on from the screen.

Still need to road test but the device fits in the mount (case less).

Hi all,

I've recently bought a Nexus 4 and I need a headset to go with it. I'm not a fan of the ear buds on the original Nexus 4 headset, you need to buy that separately. I prefer the older type earphones.

I'm thinking of buying this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221169135440.

I'd just like to know what everyone thinks, are they a good set of headsets? They seem to have what I need, Volume Rocker, Microphone and Call Answering.

Please advise, thanks!

You can get much better IEM than the ***** apple ones. And for cheaper too.

Please recommend me some that come to mind. I just thought that they seem to look ok, and most people use them with their iPhone's. But, if there are better out there I'd love to have a browse around before committing to it.

Curious.

The original Nexus 4 headset? Did they even come with one, because mine didn't?!

secondly, do iPhone headsets even work with Android phones? Infact are there any decent remote headsets that do work fully (volume, play/pause, track select etc) with Android phones. They all seem to be Apple only.

Your right. Mine didn't come with the Nexus 4 headset either. I heard that the microphone and call answer will work but Volume Rocker will not work on the Apple headsets with the Nexus 4.
