***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I don't suppose anyone know's if it's possible to customise the bottom navigation bar with the stock ROM? Ideally I want to try and combine the dock and navigation bar, so move the navigation buttons to the left for example and therefore give me space for 3 or 4 apps to the right? I've seen screenshots where people have what I want but they always seem to be using a custom ROM.

You can use Apex Launcher to have more than one dock? So you scroll to the right/left and there is another dock with more icons/apps.

Thanks, I've been using Nova launcher for something similar however I idealy only want 1 bar at the bottom, rather than the dock and the navigation bar but with similar functionality, even if I could only add the apps icon and screen off icon to the navigation bar.

Don't want another LG Nexus tbh. This current one looks nice and all but it is not aging well at all and is slowly falling apart. That and all the issues with supply and so on just make me not want another LG Phone.

Much rather have a HTC Nexus, there really getting a lot of things right now apart from the weird buttons. Maybe even Sony if they can sort out their screen, and maybe make it a bit more ergonomic.

Mine seems to be handling things just fine, and it gets impromptu introductions to the floor all the time! (damned slippery glass backing!)

The Faux metal on mine is just peeling off more and more, granted I don't have a case on it but I have been taking good care, not ever dropping it or anything. I also have a scratch on my front screen too now it just appeared one day. A few of my mates also have the faux metal pealing off too.

I put a skin on the back (deBrand) that helped a lot and it never slips. Before that it would glide on even surfaces too, I'm not even sure how its physical possible.

Also there is no hiding that the HTC One is in its own league in terms of build, there are some fit and finish concerns but all in all its a cracking phone.

Getting really annoyed at the poor sound quality when the Nexus is plugged into my car. I have to turn it up to 20 to even hear it. Then switch back to radio and you need to turn it back down to 8! In comparison I could never have my iPhone above 15, and the iPad is crazy loud at just 10!

What's wrong? Is there an easy fix?

The sound on the Nexus 4 is just crap tbh. It was one of the main reasons I got rid of mine. So much quieter than other phones.

Recently got a Nexus 4 to reply my original HTC Desire. Huge upgrade!

Not found any issues with sound? Guess it must be due to upgrading from such an old knackered handset full of dust with a broken earphone socket!

Try and go to a store where they let you try headphones out, hopefully one will already have an iPod connected. Simply replace the iPod with the Nexus and it will reflect the difference.

It's only slightly annoying for me, as I now just take the iPad on long journeys for music. But on short journeys I can't play music through my Nexus as it's so bad, but I tend to just listen to the radio on my 10 minute drive to work anyway.

Power amp with volume all the way up? Tends to be a lot louder then standard players..

Think there is a dial you can turn that goes way past standard but don't have it installed atm so can't help any further.

Power amp does help but not much. I think the audio hardware in the N4 is just crap. I need to use a Fiio E06 headphone amp to get sound to a similar level of an iPhone.

Was listening to a stream on Digitally Imported last night via my phone out through my Stereo and it sounded fine to me. It was quieter than my PC but I'd expect it to have less output than the Xonar card in their. I'll compare to some other things :)
In the car I have a stereo with a usb stick plugged in, and generally at home I'll be playing MP3s from my PC so it's not a big issue to me.

Loving the hardware though. Fixed the battery issues I was having by disabling some of the Google Syncing and seems to get approaching 2 days with average usage now - rather than struggling to last a day like it did the weekend I got it!

Random apps seem to be absolutely rinsing my battery - yesterday it was My Vodafone, and today it's Endomondo. I hadn't opened either of them that day, but both were standing at over 50% battery use.

There are no odd looking wakelocks in BBS. Has anyone got any idea what's going on?

I'm having to replace the back of my Nexus 4. Have bought the spare back from the spareslg website. Anything I should keep in mind or is it simply a case of taking the old back off and putting the new on on?

How susceptible are the clips to breaking? If they do break is it the cover clips that will break (which I don't mind as I'll be throwing the old one away) or the actual frame of the phone?

Thanks.

i have done 2, its fairly simple, but yes you could break the clips if you apply pressure in the wrong place, i watched this video first, he takes it apart (simple as it is) worth seeing
