***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

so i ordered the dbrand NEXUS 4 back skin. decided for the carbon fibre white backing. was shipped on the 5th sept, and today its on my device!

form canada to the UK in 2 days!

insane!

shot them a lovely email, and they posted it up on their fcb page, though its NSFW so i wont link it haha.

great service, and any phone i get it getting the dbrand serivce

Just ordered a titanium skin from them. Nexus 4 not due to be shipped till 10th so hopefully they'll arrive close together.

I have had dBrand skin since Janurary and it still looks brand new. These things are amazing for the price, GF even had to switch Nexus 4 due to fault and it just sticks on a new phone like it was the first time. Top quality.

Also installed CM10.2 Nightlies for the last for days and it is just stupid fast, it is also way more stable then PA. I got annoyed with PA as it would crash/restart everyday or so and I just couldn't live with that. CM10.2 has less features but it is rock solid.

After my S2 breaking down after 2 years of abuse from my part, I ordered my nexus 4 because it is so cheap, better than my S2 by MILES, and love nexus phones every since I bough the previous nexus for my gf.

Delivered in 3 days :D

Also got 2 dbrand skins (didn't know they were skins until a really slim envelope arrived :p ) one in titanium dark and one in yellow true colour.

They are amazing!! Phone is amazing, battery life is VERY VERY GOOD (compared to my S2 with the extended battery as well). I get like 16 hours with 50%, and that's with playing around quite a bit on the weekend, so I imagine at work it will last 2 days easy.

Impressed by the build quality, infront of it the nexus looks like an old children's toy :p

My gf loved it as well, and wants to switch!! No way!!

Why cover the back up when it has such a good and unique look? :-\ I understand covering some plain slab of a phone but the back of my nexus is awesome lol

Initially I just wanted a case, which I though was the case with the dbrands. I was too blinded by how awesome they looked I guess.

The look is awesome I agree with you, but since Igot the skins, and they provide better support when holding the phone or placing it on surfaces, I might as well use them.

Can anybody confirm if i can go back to 4.2.2 using the nexus toolkit (free version which supports up to 4.2.2) if the phone has 4.3 in it? i have already downloaded the 4.2.2 image from google

Love the Dbrand Wood I have on mine.

I've gotten right into emulators for the nexus 4 now! Mame specifically... Wow the nostalgia of when I was a young boy at the arcades... If anyone is interested in recommend having a look at mame4droid on the playstore.. I've also tried FPSe (psx emulator) and it runs superb I've only tested resident evil 2 mind you... And Nintendo 64 emulator also works great.. SNES too..

Gotta admit that I'm hugely impressed with this phone.
I was quite happy with my dual core Sony Xperia P but this phone isn't even in the same league.
The screen on it is incredible.
I've put Vanir rom on and Neo kernel and the thing is stupidly fast.

Just got this to replace my Galaxy Nexus, which was actually aging pretty well. I'm appreciating the quicker browsing, smoother scrolling and general quality feel of the device. £159 + del for this is just insane.

Only negatives, albeit subjective, are the screen and drop-ability. The GNexus feels more natural in the hand due to the curved back, and the plastic is easier to grip (but feels cheaper). Also I didn't like the move from OLED to LCD at first, I appreciated the true blacks. What are the advantages that IPS LCDs are supposed to have? Is is easier or harder in daylight (not had time to test)?

Do we know if Googleplay UK store is going to get the 8gb ones back in stock? Or have I missed the boat :(

I've read posts elsewhere from people who have mailed them and been told no, but then again I'm not convinced Google support staff ever get told what is happening.

Can't make my mind up to order one or not, my Desire S is really getting old and slow now, I don't need 16gb and the 8gb is out of stock, not sure if I should wait and see how much the nexus 5 is going to be or if I should just get a 16gb while they have them in stock :(
