***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Does anyone have any feedback regarding android L on nexus 4, specifically the battery life. Is there a large improvement?

Is it easy to install (guess its not coming ota)? I'm sending mine off for a replacement under warranty so might give it a try when its back. (Here's hoping they upgrade me to a 16gb!)

My rev_10 has just died :( Started getting very hot in the top left corner, then random reboots and finally sitting with the boot animation forever. Looks like an emmc/flash problem, unable to write to the phones memory, cant wipe or flash anything. Pretty gutted as it was all stock, just unlocked/rooted which I dont see causing this issue. No idea what phone to go for at the moment, possibly an N5? Until then, i'm back to my old HTC Desire, its like going back in time, but at least I kept it and can make calls and send txts!

I wonder how the N4 will run with Android L.

Has Google said that it will be updated to the latest iteration of Android?

Thought I'd have a play with Paranoid Android and Theme it to 'L' (or there abouts) as it's looking less likely Google are releasing 'L' for the Nexus 4 (or my Gen 1 Nexus 7)...

I've tried the Preview (see above) but it's too unstable for a daily driver! At least I can use my Bluetooth Headset now!! :D

Had quite a few random reboots lately, anyone else experienced this?

Could be your battery. When I replaced my screen I think I damaged my battery as I was getting reboots. Put a new one in yesterday and I've had no problems.

Apparently it was mentioned somewhere with the L preview build.

Thanks, I'll try a restore when I have time and if it keeps happening I'll look into the battery

Where exactly have Google said that the N4 won't be getting L?

Maybe not the dev preview but i'm pretty damn positive you will get the full release.

The ported L preview was pretty sweet though & very smooth in my experience! Some bugs like bluetooth not working but meh.

The cheap gift that keeps on giving - still trying to find a reason to replace my N4 and until 4G hits my area I have none really...

ps3ud0

Same. I don't game on my so have no need for a quicker CPU and as it's getting L it'll also be supported by most, if not all, apps. Only reason to upgrade would be 4G, as you say, or a better camera.

Same situation here, unless it dies on me which may or may not be happening atm haha then im holding on as its quick becoming the best money I' ve spent on tech in ages.

Since the weekend my auto brightness seems to be very dim. I have checked settings, rebooted and done all sorts but auto brightness seems so much dimmer. I've had to resort to leaving it on a set brightness now.

Any ideas why this could have happened. I hadn't dropped it or done anything else.

Just changed my phone to Kit Kat 4.4 from Cyanogenmod 10, been on Cm for nearly a year but except for the pie controls really prefer the feel and speed of kit kat.

Moved to kit kat to take advantage of three's in touch app.

The soft keys on my Nexus 4 are now seemingly shagged. Turned on the show touches thing in developer options and it's not having any contact at all around them at the bottom. Have had to install this stupid handy soft key thing that for now is doing OK, but I'm way too used to having my keys at the bottom.

Any solution to this? From doing a small read up about it I'm not sure a factory reset will help. Been tempted to root it for awhile (had it stock since I got it in Feb 2013), mind.

Cheers!

Does anyone know where you can still get the Spigen screen protectors for the Nexus 4? I want some more but Spigen don't even list them anymore :(

Try one of the Custom ROM's with 'Pie Controls' I've got Paranoid Android and had a play with the 'Imersive' function, but preferred the Normal Nav Buttons.

My soft keys are completely dead. Even after a factory reset and install of PA.

I had xposed framework on with some android L soft leys app applied. It all went wrong and now even with a new ROM on it I cannot get the soft leys to work at all. Can't do anything because as soon as I open an app it doesn't then let me close it or go back to desktop.

For the first time in 2 years and about 30 custom roms I am screwed.
