***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I've just gone back to Stock! The latest Beta's of PA borked things this morning!! Even though there were apparently 2 updates this morning!, I just got pee'd off and fired up WUG and flashed back the Stock then Rooted!

Decided to update my ROM today for the 1st time in about a year! Went with Paranoid Android. Using the L theme and it looks really good. Few questions though, how do I get to the Pie control settings? like change it's size and colour etc? Also, how do I change the DPI? I used to be able to change the DPI (i.e. size of font / icons etc) for each app, but can't find it in the new version.

I'm on 4.6 BETA 5

The old 'hybrid engine' (iirc) hasn't been in PA for some time now, but you can get pie - just go to the right pull down setting and enable Immersive mode; you'll then be given the option to enable pie.

Oh yes, and DPI cannot be enabled, at least, as far as I can see - it's the absence of the hybrid stuff :(

Oh, too bad :/ Why'd they get rid of that? That was one of the best PA features. Any other ROMS which have that and Pie?

Not sure, tablet mode and a low dpi were some of my favorite PA features, been gone since the 4.4 version iirc.

You could always have pie in the current PA, then stick Xposed on - there's a 'Phablet' module on there.... mind you, Gravity Box KK (another Xposed module) has dpi and pie mods... Not sure how well it works with PA though - I used to run Purity ROM with Gravity Box.

Hope that helps :)

Nice, haven't heard of Xposed before, trying it out now, thanks!

I got the App Settings module for Xposed and it allows me to change lots of settings per app, including dpi and font size, awesome. :)

Well, about 5 seconds of carelessness, and the screen is cracked. What would be the best option to replace the screen? It works, I just can't do anything with it. Buy one myself and replace it?

Yeah, the Mrs phone seems to have a lot of switching off or rebooting lately.
I did a bit of reading and it looks as though there is some sort of camera driver issue on the latest roms. That might explain why the Mrs phone seems to go a bit dodge all the time as she loves to take photos of our littlun.

Yes. Make sure you buy the screen and frame. There are numerous videos on how to do it. I replaced my screen and it wasn't that hard.

Is it not a bit strange (but good) that the Nexus 4 is going to officially receive Lollipop?

I thought the phones only received 18 months of software updates, and now the Nexus 4 is 2 years old.

I’m of the opinion that a device should receive an update if it is powerful enough to run the O.S as the devs intended, so I think this is a good thing.

I hope my Nexus 5 will receive next Octobers Android update!!

I'd have been quite peeved if it wasn't and it'd certainly have put me off ever getting a Nexus device again (although the massive size and price of the N6 has effectively done that anyway).

Cracked the back of my nexus 4 ages ago, theen completely smashed it mountain biking a few weeks ago. Replaced rear housing (and battery while I was at it). Phone looks great again but the new battery cooks my ear! Guess it wasn't as genuine as described.

Wife swapped hers for a HTC M8, nice phone but, can't see myself following suit anytime soon. Nexus 4 still does everything I need and only a but slower than the M8.

Looking forward to see what lollipop does.

Said goodbye to my Nexus 4 today, when I unpacked and fired up my New Lumia 830 (yes I'm a traitor... blah blah blah!...) Gonna sell it to a guy at work who's offered me more than the recyclers have!!

and I don't want to go down the ebay route!!

Sorry Guys!!! :)

In the same boat - want to change my phone but the N4 was and still is a nice phone - just a shame about its camera

Right; got a new digitizer to replace my broken one but am fearful currently of setting a heatgun on it to separate it from the LCD. Also where on Earth can I get some kind of adhesive remover to get rid of the glue that'll be on the LCD once I get the old digitizer off? Also the replacement digitizer didn't come with any kind of glue itself, is that normal?
