***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

So if someone raises a concern this is actually a cover because they can't afford or justify it? I'd rather do the most to make the right decision first than waste my time with the wrong choice (because your time is actually valuable).

He said similar when i expressed concerns a few pages back but deleted his message. The points people are making are coming from reviews, they may be incorrect but we dont know until some proper reviews with finished software come out so people are speculating.

Where this fascination with being able to 'afford' this device comes from is beyond me, maybe you are trying to convince yourself that it is still great and justify it despite the negatives in reviews? See what i did there?

Hate myself for stooping to this level lol.

Does it look fine though without the scratches the parts u see, or does it look plastic and cheap?

It reminds of the bezel around the SII. I wish they could have used a metal one or something, the rest of the phone is fine. The bezel is the only deal breaker for me at the moment. I may end up getting one anyway but we'll see!

O2 also mentioned that you don't have to turn up at the dome on the 13th to win a TV, you might win by tweeting pictures of yourself with the Nexus!

no that is fine, if you scan through the thread i have raised some concerns, its when people poo poo everything trying to build up support for their choice not to buy it that bugs me.

I was in the SG3 thread and having recently purchased a galaxy nexus i did not feel that would be the right choice for me, i just unsubscribed from the thread rather than put it down and try and talk others into "following" me.

afford can mean more than money... and what are you on about 3 trusted mainstream reviews all gave 4.5 stars out of 5....

the negatives are all the same... not enough storage and no 4g blah blah blah

Hopefully we'll be able to buy black plastic bezels to replace the scratch magnetic chrome edge.

:oWhy some people are trying to find so many negatives in this phone before it even went for sale.
if you done like its edges dont buy it
if you are concern about battery life, dont buy it.

just man up :o

I dont care about edges, maybe bit concern about battery life but have decided I will get it and I will.

simples

im just be cautious and making sure my current nexus phone is not sold or given away until im happy no major bugs or issues are present,

being an early adopter can be a pain sometimes

I think those who stay in the thread to debate points do so because theu want to buy the phone and are looking for ways to deal with perceived issues.

With regard to reviews; they are not wholly trustworthy. No review has mentioned a scratched bezel yet they could exist (a bit like iphone5gate). Similarly the o2x got a 1000 page thread on xda of problems (core fundamental operartional problens) which were never picked up in reviews.

The sensible thing to do is discuss solutions to speculation. In this case, google play are not so good at support and neither are LG (4 week turnaroubd time). Ok so how do you deal with a phone that has demonstrably poor thermal desigb where support is poor? This is essentislly the question that is being asked.

I think it's partially because people don't trust LG not to fudge it like they have done previously.

heh
I trust google and hopefully, they (LG) had to make sure that their quality checks are in place

dont trust LG, then dont get the phone.

I would get it if it would be made by Huawei even though I never had anything from them and dont trust their quality

well i agree to an extent, but the bezel looking like it might get a scratch (who cares anyway) is pure speculation

Some people do like phones that aren't damaged easily and still look good over time. £239 is still a lot of money and if my phone is damaged like the ones last night after a short period of time then I won't be impressed.
If you don't like my opinion then fine. I've actually handled this phone unlike none of you so I'm going to stick with what I know - sorry!

Personally I think the phone will look nicer without the horrid chrome paint on the bezel, I am already thinking of ways I can safely remove it. Hopefully it's as easy to remove as some are making out! :)

so what are you saying it was falling apart in your hand?

If thats the case i'm fine with that, The SII bezel wasn't too bad to be honest, I dropped my SII twice & it had a small chip on one side & a little mark on the other. It wasn't really that noticeable to be fair.
